After the success of "Survivor" on CBS, each of the other networks quickly put together a variety of reality shows that they hoped would be hits. ABC had "The Mole", the WB had "Popstars", UPN had "Chains of Love", and Fox had "Boot Camp". "Boot Camp" was about sixteen contestants who endured military training (filled with real-life drill instructors yelling at them) in order to win $500,000. It was not nearly as good as "Survivor" nor was it nearly as big a hit. However, "Boot Camp" was somewhat entertaining mindless junk. It wouldn't be on my list of top ten favorite reality shows (or even top twenty for that matter), but it was better than the reality shows that are on Fox now.
