"The Complaint of an Empress" is more like a collection of random images, something like a collage. Most people would find the film boring and pointless, but I, for one, liked it immensely. It's all too quirky, too weird. Nothing makes sense, and there's no plot or dialogue. It's just random images, and sound. I guess it's comparable to Ron Fricke's work in a way. The scenes with the woman dressed as a bunny are very memorable. I think they are my favourites.

And this actually made me want to learn how to dance! The choreography is so marvelous, you want to dance just like the actors. So, yes, it's not your typical motion picture, but I really liked it.

Warning: Spoilers
Offensive to leaf blowers, stumbling bunnies, numbered trees, seniors lost on hillsides, sheep, goats, dogs, children of production assistants, those who lounge in afternoon traffic for sport, those who move large armoires on their backs, those who hold telephones over flushing toilets, ballet barres, sequined dresses, tablas, multicultural music, fecalpheliacs, soapsuds, beaten coats, Asian women trapped on snowy bridges, roller skates, topless Theda Bara impersonators, deep sighers in red heels, men napping in snow drifts, accordion players, and didgeridoos. Other than that, this film might have everything or nothing that the discerning art film fan may look for. Ad-lib your own dialogue for a savvy party game.
