With the adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies' finally firing on all cylinders the project from director Burr Steers ('Igby Goes Down') has managed to nab another cast mate. 'Noah' star Douglas Booth (below), who played the eldest lad Shem in Darren Aronofsky's biblical vision, will take the role Mr. Bingley. Booth will line up alongside Sam Riley, Lily James ('Downton Abbey') and the ever gorgeous Bella Heathcote ('Dark Shadows'). The British actor can also be seen next year in the Wachowski brothers latest sci-fi epic 'Jupiter Ascending'. »
Seth Grahame-Smith’s zombie parody of the classic Jane Austen novel, Pride And Prejudice And Zombies, was released five years ago. Granted, time doesn’t matter when it comes to adaptations. If the material is strong then it’ll last through the flippant fads of the public. With Smith’s comedy novel, the same logic applies.
This project has been in development since its publication, but now we can rejoice, as the five year drought of action has come to an end! Today another casting announcement has landed, and it comes in the form of British actor Douglas Booth signing on.
The mash-up novel follows heroine Elizabeth Bennet, who has to contend with men in high-waisted trousers and stiff upper lips And hordes of the undead. Booth has signed on to play Bingley L, “the good natured and wealthy pal of Mr. Darcy.” This could be the role that puts »

Twenty years has passed since we were first introduced to the characters of My So-Called Life, twenty years! Where has the time gone? And more importantly when did I get so old?
While most of you won’t really care too much what I’ve been up to since the show finished, let’s take a look at what the actors have been up to in the years since the cancellation of what is frankly the greatest teen TV drama ever.
Claire Danes (Angela Chase)
After breaking out in My So-Called Life, Danes focused on her film career first with a leading role in 1995’s Little Women and then supporting roles in smaller but interesting films like Home For The Holidays, How to Make An American Quilt and »
One of the books that started the mash-up fad has been in development for quite some time. Based on Seth Grahame-Smith’s adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic, the film sees an old fashioned romance blossom in a world populated with the undead. The books have received mixed reviews, with many saying the story doesn’t get past the joke title, but there’s still a lot to enjoy, although my personal favourite would have to be Sense And Sensibility And Sea-Monsters. Writer Grahame-Smith has already entered the world of film with a script for Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows and an adaptation of his own book Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter.
Jack Huston has now been cast as George Wickham, joining the already cast Sam Riley as Mr. Darcy, and Lily James and Bella Heathcote as Elizabeth Bennet and one of her sisters. Igby Goes Down Director Burr Steers helms »

With filming set to kick off next month on the long delayed adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, a bit more casting news has come in with word that "Boardwalk Empire" star Jack Huston has signed on.
Per Deadline, Huston (American Hustle, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) will portray handsome, charismatic Lt. Wickham in the Burr Steers-directed adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s mash-up novel for Cross Creek Pictures, who acquired domestic rights with a commitment for a wide U.S. release.
He joins the previously announced Lily James, Sam Riley, and Bella Heathcote. Huston's Wickham and James' Elizabeth Bennett are immediately attracted to each other, and he’s familiar with her combat skills. Wickham aims to teach zombies to fight, and he wins Liz over with his theories regarding training them.

You didn't actually think is was going to be the only one to write an article about "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" without using a bad pun, did you?
Seth Grahame-Smiths literary mash-up of Jane Austen and the undead has had a long road to the big screen. David O. Russell was originally attached to direct and wrote a script that all involved likes quite a bit, but other things go in the way and Russell moved on to "Silver Linings Playbook", "American Hustle" and multiple Oscar nominations along the way.
Natalie Portman was on deck to star and produce when Russell was directing, but she opted out of the acting portion of her commitment. After that it looked like the flick might never happen, but now Deadline is reporting that shooting is set to begin this fall.

It has been well over a year since we last reported on the planned adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies'. The project has already eaten through a feast of talent attached to the project at some point or another including stars such as Scarlett Johansson ('Avengers Assemble'), Natalie Portman and Anne Hathaway ('Les Miserables'). As well as Mike White and David O. Russell all set to work behind the camera. However, shooting is expected to kick off next month so this fresh coming together of director Burr Steers ('Igby Goes Down') and actors Sam Riley, Lily James -below ('Fast Girls', 'Downton Abbey') and the stunning Bella Heathcote -below ('Dark Shadows') will hopefully remain as the 'final' official line-up for the project. »
The Pride and Prejudice and Zombies film has cast three actors.

Now we learn, however, that it's definitely on, and shooting is set to start next month.

Cross Creek Pictures has acquired Us rights and Sierra/Affinity is handling foreign sales. At various times Russell, Mike White and Craig Gillespie were attached to direct, and Emma Stone, Lily Collins, Natalie Portman and Blake Lively were in talks to play the lead.

The long-languishing adaptation Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is finally moving forward at Cross Creek Pictures, with shooting to begin this September. Joining the cast are Lily James, Sam Riley and Bella Heathcote.
Originally set to be released by Lionsgate, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies has been trying to make it to the big screen ever since it was published in 2009 by author Seth Grahame-Smith. Now director Burr Steers, best known for 17 Again and Igby Goes Down, is confirmed to helm, working from a script he co-wrote with Academy Award nominated director David O. Russell (American Hustle; Silver Linings Playbook).
