Spotlight on the Stars: Adam Sandler

1 October 2014 1:41 PM, PDT | | See recent news »

For this week’s spotlight piece, I wanted to sort of go back to the start of the series and take a look at someone who doesn’t get the respect that they deserve from the masses. Today, that person is Adam Sandler, one of the kings of comedy who also has a flair for drama when he decides to go that route. He’s a huge titan of studio comedy, for sure, but he’s got a load of talent for when he chooses to get serious. The laughs have shot him to the A-list, but when he’s gone for depth and emotion, he’s shown that he’s got some acting chops as well. He’s rather underrated overall, so a spotlight today is definitely in the cards for him. Sandler got his start towards the A-list through television when he was cast on Saturday Night Live »

Ranked: Every Summer Movie Season Since 1980 - Part 2

14 September 2014 6:33 PM, PDT | Cinelinx | See recent Cinelinx news »

We’ve reviewed every summer movie season since 1980 to find out which are the best, and which are the worst. Last week we posted our picks for the worst, and here we post our picks for the best.

2015 and 2016 may just be the most overthetop summer movie seasons yet. It seems like nearly every movie slated for a summer 2015 or 2016 release is heavily anticipated. Because of these impending summers of movie awesomeness, we’ve decided to take a look back at summer movie seasons of years past. The idea of the summer movie season is currently in full swing, but it didn’t catch on immediately. Hollywood had to do its fair share of experimenting to determine what types of films would be most successful. As a result, some summer movie seasons have been better than others. We’ve reviewed them all for you and ranked them from worst to best. »

Interview: John Turturro Vibrantly Directs ‘Fading Gigolo’

29 April 2014 6:29 AM, PDT | | See recent news »

Chicago – “You’re a sick f**k, Fink” is the movie quote I was tempted to throw at John Turturro, the actor who played the title role as “Barton Fink,” and dozens of other memorable movie characters. Turturro is breaking out again as a writer/director, producing a new film co-starring Woody Allen, delicately entitled “Fading Gigolo.”

Turturro stars in the film as Fioravante, a withdrawn part time florist who economic circumstances force him to seek help from Murray (Woody Allen), his favorite local bookshop owner. But the shop is closing, and Murray finds himself in the same financial difficulties. The two hatch a plan for Fioravante to become a gigolo, and Murray to become his pimp…er, representative.

Elizabeth Banks Is Desperate in Our Exclusive Red Band 'Walk of Shame' Preview (Video)

23 April 2014 8:00 AM, PDT | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

Elizabeth Banks just wanted to borrow someone's phone, okay?

In this exclusive (and very R-rated) clip for "Walk of Shame," Elizabeth Banks's character, Meghan, is lost and trying to make a phone call after a particularly eventful evening. See also: the title of the movie. In modern parlance, the walk of shame is what one does after having intimate relations with another person that they've just met. A walk of shame is usually done in one's clothes and/or makeup from the night before, unless it's Halloween, in which case the walk of shame is done in one's Halloween costume.

Unfortunately for Meghan, her walk of shame is much more complicated. The recognizable TV reporter has to navigate Los Angeles without cash, a car, her phone, or even her ID. And she has to do it in time to make a really important job interview for a network news anchor gig! »

Elizabeth Banks Causes Trouble in 'Walk of Shame' Red Band Trailer

15 April 2014 1:10 PM, PDT | | See recent news »

Following a somewhat underwhelming trailer earlier this year for the comedy Walk of Shame starring Elizabeth Banks, a second red band trailer offers a slightly better look at the comedy. While the terrible audio editing in the first half of the trailer is thoroughly distracting, Banks shines as she runs around Los Angeles, trying to get her car back in order to make it to the most important job interview of her career as a news anchorwoman. Meanwhile, her one-night-stand James Marsden and friends Gillian Jacobs and Sarah Wright are in hot pursuit, trying to end her long night from hell with a happy ending. Watch below! Here's the new red band trailer for Steven Brill's Walk of Shame, originally from Us Magazine: Walk of Shame is written and directed by Steven Brill (Mr. Deeds, Drillbit Taylor, Without a Paddle). New Images from Walk Of Shame Starring Elizabeth Banks and James Marsden

20 March 2014 3:39 PM, PDT | | See recent news »

Focus World has released a few new images from director Steven Brill’s (Mr. Deeds) upcoming comedy Walk of Shame.  The film stars Elizabeth Banks as a news anchor who finds herself out on the street after a drunken one-night stand with no money, identification, or means of travel.  Her shameful trek across Los Angeles is fraught with misadventures as she attempts to make it to a career-changing job interview.  These images give us a look at Banks and the film’s male lead, played by James Marsden, as well as some of the ensemble.  The pic's release has been delayed a couple of times, but Banks is incredibly funny so the prospect of seeing her lead a comedy all her own is enticing. Hit the jump to check out the images.  The film also stars Gillian Jacobs, Sarah Wright Olsen, Kevin Nealon, Ethan Suplee, Bill Burr, and Willie Garson. »

'Psych' - 'Cog Blocked' GIFs: An ode to Burton Guster

5 February 2014 7:00 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

If you hadn't heard, this is "Psych's" final season (we know, we're upset too), but it's going out with a bang. There is nary a misstep between now and the series finale on March 26. Wednesday's (Feb. 5) episode starts the countdown to the end off right, with Dulé Hill's magnum opus as Burton Guster.

When John Russell, a man living a carbon-copy of Gus' life, dies in an apparent suicide, Gus is bound and determined to prove that he (Gus Russ) didn't kill himself. It was a ton of fun watching Gus be the head detective for once, since nobody believes him that Russell was actually murdered.

There's also the introduction of Emanuelle (Kali Hawk), a private detective and love interest for Gus. Here's hoping we haven't seen the last of her. It was also awesome to see Gus throw off the shackles of Central Coast Pharmaceuticals after all these years. »

Elizabeth Banks Has The Morning After From Hell In First Walk Of Shame Trailer

16 January 2014 6:25 PM, PST | | See recent Cinema Blend news »

On the heels of the horribly Photoshopped poster that was released earlier this week, we now have the debut trailer for the new comedy Walk of Shame, courtesy of Yahoo! While it's not the funniest spot I've seen, there is something about it that makes me want to reserve judgement until I've seen more. Written and directed by Steven Brill, whose previous credits include the Adam Sandler comedies Little Nicky and Mr. Deeds, the film tells the tale of Meghan Miles (Elizabeth Banks), a TV reporter who dreams of one day getting to sit in the anchor's chair. Alone and miserable one night, she lets her friends talk her into going out partying, which results in plenty of drunkenness, meeting a cute boy (James Marsden) and going home with him. The next morning she wakes up to learn that she is going to get her shot as a network news »

Watch: Elizabeth Banks Has Hellish One Night Stand in 'Walk of Shame'

15 January 2014 8:13 PM, PST | | See recent news »

While Elizabeth Banks has mostly been relegated to meaty supporting roles in films like People Like Us, The Hunger Games, The Next Three Days and Role Models, this time she's taking the lead on the comedy Walk of Shame. It's a classic race against time as Banks plays a local news reporter who has the sudden opportunity to become a network news anchor. The only problem is after her car is towed following a one night stand (with James Marsden), she has no phone, ID or money, and finds herself stranded and desperate to make it to the interview. This trailer reminds me of that movie Trojan War from 1997 with "Boy Meets World" star Will Friedle looking everywhere for a condom. And that's not a compliment. Watch! Here's the first trailer for Steven Brill's Walk of Shame, originally from Yahoo: Walk of Shame is written and directed by Steven Brill (Mr. Deeds, »

Elizabeth Banks gives The Hangover a Female Spin in First Trailer for Walk of Shame

15 January 2014 4:28 PM, PST | | See recent HeyUGuys news »

If this first trailer for Walk of Shame is anything to go by, Elizabeth Banks’ return to the world of comedy films is going to be a lot of fun.

It’s been far too long since we last saw Banks really take the lead in a comedy like this, and bringing what is in essence a female take to the likes of The Hangover sounds like a winning formula to me, possibly even one that could launch a bit of an unexpected franchise here.

Following the poster debut for the film yesterday, Focus World has released the first trailer over on Yahoo Movies. And whilst it’s not strictly red-band, it does use a five-letter word beginning with B, so it may be best not watch this if you’re at work.

Elizabeth Banks Fronts the First Poster for Walk of Shame

14 January 2014 1:26 PM, PST | | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Having been absent from our screens for a little while now in a leading comedy role, comedienne Elizabeth Banks is about to make her return to centre stage this spring in the R-rated comedy, Walk of Shame.

The first trailer is set to debut online this Wednesday, and Focus World has launched the first poster to whet your appetite over on Yahoo Movies.

After losing an audition for her dream job, an aspiring Los Angeles TV news anchor goes out for an uncharacteristic night of partying. She awakes in a stranger’s bed to a phone message from her agent telling her the job is hers, if she can make it across town by 5 pm. Stranded in an unknown area without money, a phone, and a car, she embarks on a series of misadventures as she races to the most important job interview of her life.
