Storyline

When underappreciated video specialist Joe Scheffer is brutally humiliated by the office bully Mark McKinney in front of his daughter, Joe begins a quest for personal redemption. He proceeds by enduring a personal make-over and takes martial arts lessons from a B-action star. As news spreads of his rematch with Mark, Joe suddenly finds himself the center of attention, ascending the corporate ladder and growing in popularity. He's determined to show everyone in his life that he is not a nobody, but a force to be reckoned with. Written by Anna <dimenxia@yahoo.com>

Goofs

The scene where you see Joe passing the Macaroni Grill twice on his way from home to work is geographically incorrect. It appears on the left side of the highway which means he was actually driving towards Minneapolis, his supposed home, instead of away from it. In fact, the Macaroni Grill is even more west of downtown than where his office was located so he would never be on that part of the road going to or from work at all. See more »

Not Tim Allen's best effort, but watchable
24 November 2002 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This film contains a nice little blend of comedy, and heart touching warmth, with Tim Allen starring as a somewhat meek and timid office executive, who often gets stepped on and overlooked. After getting knocked down by the company bully in front of his young daughter,he decides to toughen up and make the world take notice. This is a cute story with a good message about not forgetting the most important things in life. This isn't Tim Allen's best effort, but the film is watchable enough. Lending good support are Jim Belushi as an ex-movie actor/martial arts instructor, and Julie Bowen, who always seems to lend a nice touch to a film(I recalled her from Happy Gilmore),as the love interest.Good film, but don't look for greatness.
