uh, no!, 13 November 2001

Well, after the dissapointment of 5 and 6...I wasn't expecting too much from 7. And I'm glad I didn't hope for too much, because there wasn't much to be thrilled about. Though it was filmed well, and looked dark and moody, this film just never let itself get off the ground.

Spending too much time trying to develop a back story, but never allowing itself to do so, COTC 7 falls on its face at every turn. Supposedly, 60 years ago, atleast 45 years or so before the original COTC there was another cult of children, run by Abel, who is a little blonde boy who is about as scary was a piece of one has had the appeal as John Franklin or Daniel Cerny or Ryan Bollman ( COTC 1, 2, & 3) these kids are bland, dull, too zombie like and just don't do anything...Though, I did like the scene where Jamie was confronted by the children in the Hallway, with the little girl on the swing, etc...I looked creepy...and what of the girl being killed by a corn stalk in the bath tub? That was just dumb!

Oh, well, I gave up on the series a long time ago...Miramax and Dimension have just set aside style, substance and intelligence for well, still attempting to recreate something that should not be beaten to death....

Though filmed well, I can't say this movie resurrected my faith in these films getting any better.....

Atleast this one was a departure from what happened up until #6....And MIchael Ironside was a total waste in this film....he was in like 3 scenes or less.....
