The first ever live broadcast by EWTN. Mother Angelica stood by "oversized pictures of her meeting with the Pope, a monstrance, and a satellite dish, and surrounded by a row of fake ferns. Clasping her hands in excitement she told the audience, 'This is our first live, live, I mean really live television program.'"

At this point Mother Angelica still hadn't decided if she wants to continue with the live show. During this broadcast a boy whose mother is dead and father is in the hospital makes a phone call holding a gun to his head and threatening suicide. Mother pleas to him not to do it and asks the audience to pray. A priest in his town recognizes the boy's voice on television and rushes to his house. After this live show which demonstrated how it can reach and help people from all over the country Mother Angelica decides the live show must continue.
