Bill wakes up from a coma in a hospital ward, raving about tissue regeneration experiments, final injections, organ transplants and having been cryogenically frozen. Battling flashbacks of his father's death and a car crash, occasional hallucinations and fits of rage he tries to piece together his own history with the help of Ann, a lonely medical psychologist sent in to evaluate whether he should be released. In their confrontational, sexually-charged sessions, Bill flip-flops between pitch-perfect self-diagnoses and his paranoid bio-tech fantasies, but slowly begins to heal. But things are not what they seem. Written by
Having been a huge Denis Leary fan for quite some time now, I stumbled on this freaky little diamond in the rough about half-way through on an independent film channel. I was hooked but confused. Needless to say, I spent a good while searching for this movie again. Finally had to special order it. Well worth the trouble. I have seen some of Denis Leary's other film work, (The Ref, most of Wag The Dog) but this was by far the superior piece. He is an amazing dramatic actor. The beauty of this film is that the writing allows for his dry-wit to really shine through. And he really CAN act. The plot might have some holes in it and it's illogical it some points but the acting is amazing. The story is generally good and the flashbacks, though confusing at times, enhance the story. I have watched it at least three times and each time I get something new. I do warn you though, block out the 2+ hours completely, it can get confusing it you watch it with too long of a pause.
