Good atmospheric thriller from France, 16 May 2005

Just a little one night stand - and you end up as the prime suspect for
murder. No one is interested in your side of the story, not even your
lawyer husband, so you run before you get arrested. That's how it
happens to Florence, and this is not the first movie plot that starts
this way. But the atmosphere created by the authors is almost as tight
as in a Sebastien Japrisot novel, and that is quite unique in the movie
world. What's more, they manage to weave the web and unravel the plot
in a mere 90 minutes. (A genuine Japrisot takes considerably longer.)
With some commendable photography, some rather scenic locations and a
good cast added to the mix you won't find yourself regretting the time
spent chomping away at your popcorn with a vengeance. I'll certainly
watch it again - for details - when it comes around the next time. A
good example of a competent French thriller, methinks.

Predictable yet entertaining, 9 July 2006

This movie can characterized as a typical french crime thriller. The acting is good for a TV production but the story is very predictable since there are only a few main characters. It becomes quite clear into the movie that the solution to the plot has to involve these few. The drama surrounding the main protagonist, a woman who is married to a lawyer and made the mistake to sleep with a stranger who dies at the beginning of the movie, is believable. Overall the movie is nothing really special but sure a entertaining thriller with fresh and pretty unknown faces. The look and feel of Nizza, where the movie takes place, is present but there are not many recognizable spots where the action is taking place apart from some scene shots.
