Good game that has been bastardized.
rooboy847 October 2002
OK, this is a great game along with the expansion pack. Don't get me wrong, I have it and the expansion pack and love it, but then the producers got greedy. And decided to make the other games not out of passion, but greed.

I think 2 or 3 games was enough, but now there is hot date, vacation and house party, and more. Pretty much the same, except added a few things. Like a doll, just adds a hat and says it's all new.

They should have stopped it at least after the third game that came out.

A game anyone can enjoy
john-walterman14 August 2008
A comment made on here before me seem to say that the game is made FOR just women. The Sims is a series that goes about 50-50 for both genders. Women can enjoy dressing their Sims and things like that, but males like me find fun things to do in the game as well. The Sims is open to be played however the player chooses. The game has spun out to become the best selling computer game franchise in history, and was recently taken notice of when EA announced The Sims and The Sims 2 had sold 100 Million Copies worldwide. That means 100 million stories. 100 million ways to play The Sims. The Sims 3 is coming in 2009. the game will feature an open world and countless other features, and will undoubtedly be sold out in stores for weeks after the release. I would suggest Pre-Ordering a copy now, before it's too late!

Sims 2 Is Wicked!!
x_lil_miss_aimi_x4 February 2007
i absolutely love the Sims! it is the best computer game ever. I have the sims2 though which makes the Sims 1 look really rubbish. in the Sims 2 you can do everything on the Sims 1 and more!. On Sims 1 you only have 3 stages in life -child, adult and elder..and you don't grow but in Sims two you actually go through stages of pregnancy, have a baby which will grow into a toddler..then a child, then teen (you can sneak out in the middle of the nigh as a teen!) then an adult and then elder and eventually you will die! You can also call a cab and go to town shopping for computer games clothes magazines and food. There is also a lot of expansion packs for the Sims to like sims2 Nightlife-when you can go clubbing-Sims 2 Open for business when you actually go to work with your Sims, Sims 2 Pets when you can make cats dogs have hamsters parrots and you can make them have babies-so cute! Ther is also a new sims2 coming out (2007) where the weather actually changes and you have the four seasons so you can build snowmen in winter and sunbathe in summer . Well there is my view on the Sims2 so there you go.

A fun game to play
sstumbke10 May 2002
The Sims is a game where you have to control little computerized people, you can build them a house, get them jobs to pay the bills and give them a social life (they can even get married). From the moment i got this game i was hooked. The good thing about the sims is that it is funny and unpredictable.

Warning! Do not play this game if you ever plan on leaving your computer again!!!
jweatherford275 November 2003
The Sims has to be the most addicting game I've ever played in my life! I'm actually ashamed of how much time and money I've spent on it. Nevertheless, it's well worth it. I even have all the expansion packs for it (except the new one that just came out). Despite the fact that it might be a shameful addiction, I still have a lot of fun on it.

This is one of thew greatest PC games ever!
JWiss2 July 2002
When I first saw The Sims I had no idea what to expect. Actually, it sounded weird. Controlling little people's lives? What the - ?

But shortly after I had purchased the game and played it for myself, I thought about it very differently. The Sims is arguably the best video game made for computer that I have ever played! You can never finish a game. You just keep playing until you evict the family or kill all the sims in it (or stop playing of course).

I would find it amusing to have people ask me "Are you winning?" when I'm playing the sims. I would simply turn around and say "This is a game which cannot be won. You can't even finish it!"

The Sims is a fantastic, impeccable, incredible, good, great, fabulous, brilliant and highly enjoyable game. 10 out of 10!

I love this game. (Review for PC and Console version)

Warning: Spoilers
The Sims is the best game I've played in years, when I first played it I had doubts about it but as I went on I started to love this game. Create your own Sim and live out it's life by getting a job, buying a house and talking to fellow Sims in your neighbourhood. The expansion packs add new elements to the game with new objects, costumes and places. The Sims is a great game that should be played.

The Sims for PS2 is a whole 3D world so you can rotate and zoom in or out at your Sims, the Get a Life mode also gives a new turn for the game by creating a Sim who lives with his Mom then moving out, getting a roommate, starting a family and becoming a millionaire.

The Sims - A Lot More than Your Average Game
jonna-vuorinen20 June 2011
I remember when I first got acquainted with the Sims over ten years ago. As I watched my friend control those fascinating human-like creatures and build and decorate houses for them, I was intrigued in a way I had never been before. That is to say, I have to admit I was immediately hooked for life.

The Sims has something for everyone, which I believe is one of the biggest reasons for its well deserved success. It has humor, drama, romance, challenge and endless possibilities of letting one's creative juices flow. Even after all these years it's still hard to find a game that manages to be as versatile and exciting, one of the main characteristics of the Sims being the fact that it can be played for as long as one likes. The game doesn't have an ending, at least not in the way video games usually do, which enables the player to develop the story of the characters almost endlessly.

The impact that the Sims has had on my life makes it appear as more than just a game, considering how much I've learned by playing it. It has improved my logic, expanded my imagination and even perfected my aesthetic eye. I recommend it to anyone who graves for an entertaining and thrilling gaming experience.

The Sims is the prototype of a great video game, which definitely makes it worth the whole 10 out of 10 in rating.

Someone finally made a game for women, and it was a bestseller.
ladyariadne16 July 2002
A game company finally made a game that women and girls really enjoy, and it's not a syrupy-sweet Barbie adventure, nor is it some journey into feminist history. Instead, it features the things that we really like, such as relationships, clothes, interesting careers, building and decorating homes, and trading items online with our friends. > The Sims has been the best-selling game in the country for years, and it still has the field to itself. Somehow the rest of the computer game industry hasn't caught on to the fact that there's an enormous market waiting for them if they can just manage to produce fun games that don't center around killing and which have a palette beyond the army fatigues and blood mix that makes the screen a misery to look at in so many of the games I see my boyfriend playing. The Sims impresses me more than any game since Oregon Trail (and that was in the eighties!).

Pretty addicting
cheeseboy8021 February 2001
This game is fun. You can control a family up to 8 people. The game is now more funer with the Livin' Large expansion pack. The most annoying thing about the expansion are those roaches. It's pretty funny to watch my sims stomping on them. Plus! On the expansion pack, you could choose from more objects than ever. Sims can do things they couldn't do in the normal game. Livin' Large is a pretty fun expansion pack and the game itself. You can download many objects and skins on webpages on the net.

I give this game 9 out of 10

its very addicting
et1823 March 2007
I played this game since it came out in year 2000 when I was age 10. I didn't think it'd be fun. I was right but I thought it was addicting due to it dealing with people and you can make their lives poor or rich by a click of a mouse. I loved causing natural disasters in the sims' homes and having them call the fire department or exterminater. The only thing I hated about the game was the sims' actions. They didn't do stuff normal people did they were pretty stupid and always got depressed so I had to use cheats in the game! Other than that this game is fun but don't get too addicted because when I got off the computer I said to myself: "Man, am I pathetic or what?"

More fun than a barrel full'a monkeys!
MovieAddict201610 August 2001
Although it's not my favorite game, the SIMS lives up to my expectations. You can control up to a family of 8 people, design them, their house and tell them what to do.You can get married, have children, get roommates...It's like the real world, and you can do everything you had always wanted too do(you get jobs as well) It's addicting at first(for about 8 hours or so), but then it gets a bit predictable and a bit boring. So I advise anyone that gets it don't blow the 8 hours real quick like I did. Live it out and have fun. I'm sure I'll be getting the 2 new{er} expansion packs, along with anything else they make for it. 3 out of 5 stars(p.s., if you want a cheat for the game, press and hold CTRL,SHIFT,AND C. THEN TYPE ROSEBUD IN THE CHEAT CONSOLE AND PRESS ENTER, FOR A THOUSAND DOLLARS(SIM MONEY). THEN ACCESS THE CHEAT CONSOLE AGAIN AND TYPE!; LIKE THAT UP TO 60 TIMES, EACH TIME WORTH A THOUSAND BUCKS!!)

A classic of PC games
mOVIemAN5626 December 2005
Warning: Spoilers
The Sims was the first PC game that hung with me for a while. The idea of creating your own family and leading them through everyday life caught hold of me and said give it a try. I was stunned at how good the game turned out to be. You play the Creator, the person who creates the character(s), build their house, and buy them furniture. You decide what they do, where they go, and where they work.

While trying them to work and earn money, you must keep your Sims happy by making sure they aren't hungry, have proper hygiene, and a social life. It's quite frustrating at times but brings out hours of fun. The character designs our great, getting to chose what color skin, what they wear, and even what their face looks like. Some parts of the game are pretty challenging such as trying to get your Sim to work on time or starting a relationship with another.

The Sims is a classic of the computer. It's a simple idea: create a family and make sure they are happy. The games graphics are realistic enough, the games replay value is second only to Rome: Total War for a PC game, and it's difficulty is just high enough to make the game challenging.

The Sims.

Graphics: 4/5

Replay: 5/5

Difficulty: 4/5

4 out of 5 Stars.

One of the most fun, most addicting, enjoyable games ever..
Jdc10215 January 2003
I bought the SIMS the very first day it came out, about two years ago. I have been playing ever since. I was a big fan of Sim City and actually I can remember in 1997 when I was in the 7th grade I had an idea for a video game much like that of Sim City, but its shown as a families perspective. When I found out the game was being made, I immediately knew I wanted to buy it. Its such a fun game and the different versions are really good as well. I have all of them except for the newest version, called "unleashed". I am also hoping to buy the first console edition for the PS2. All in all, its a lot of fun, its even better if you download different skins from various internet sites and create your own world. I mean what other video game can you have "The Grinch", "Edward Sissorhands" and "Drew Carey" as roomates?

Completely Amazing.
The-Flaming-Pig8 September 2002
This game is just amazing and incredible at the same time. You can do whatever you dreamed to do. But, No Gore! Why can't they have murderes come into the house (Burglars come, but no Murderers), They cant go to the hospital or accidentally break their arms or get them chopped off by a ham sandwich. Anyway, astounding gameplay, had me hooked from the start, suprising since my arsenal happens to be mostly FPS (First Person Shooter), RTS (Real-Time Strategy) War Games, Gory Platform games, 3-rd Person Shooters, RPG (Role-Playing Game)s like Diablo and Diablo 2 and of course, my beloved Fighting Games. Get this game. I told all my friends and they all bought it and are also hooked. I have all expansions except Vacation and Unleashed, into one game. It's fantastic! 9.5/10 (.5 percent taken away because of Minimal Violcence and No Gore)
