Mix-Up of Two Films
Hard Riders (1973)
* 1/2 (out of 4)
HARD RIDERS needs a bit of an explanation to it. This here is a 1973 film that for some reason took footage from two unrelated movies, edited them together and tried to pass it off as a new movie. The "story" here deals with a group of bikers who are doing something strange (I honestly don't know what) and when this isn't happening they are getting laid.
The footage of the bikers doing strange thing is from the 1969 movie SINNER'S BLOOD and the hardcore footage was taken from 1973's KIM COMES HOME. These two films have absolutely nothing in common so why they decided to edit them together and release it is anyone's guess. This is certainly the cheapest thing you can do to "create" a movie and especially when you consider there wasn't any new footage shot.
With that said, it's really impossible to judge either of the original films because they've been cut down so badly. SINNER'S BLOOD originally ran 81-minutes and KIM COMES HOME ran just under a hour yet this new cut clocks in just under a hour so obviously a lot of footage is missing. The highlight of KIM COMES HOME was a threesome with Rene Bond, another woman and a man. That scene is played out here but why watch it here when you can just watch the original movie?
I've yet to see the full version of SINNER'S BLOOD but the footage here makes no sense and it makes even less sense when you've got the two edited films mixed together. At most this here is a curio for those who are familiar with the other two movies but there's no question that this here is a cheap excuse to try and make cash by a producer.
