Brilliant concert filled with great songs and an interesting stage design as well
The Savage Garden concert is one of my personal favourite concerts of all time for many reasons. It was one of the first DVDs I was ever exposed to and loved every minute of it. The whole stage setup aswell as the inventive light design was all pretty clever and quite stellar looking which were able to adjust perfectly to each song. It's a creative and variable design which is able to convey a lot of emotion which Is why I thought it was pretty cool
The songs are just as great as they ever were with some of them even improved. "Gunning down romance" was a great example of a song that was improved dramatically in the concert with some awesome looking shadow puppetry from Darren who really let himself go in that song. The track listing was also good as moves from song to song very well. The finale is also great and really added some much needed catharsis to the end of the concert, as well as the stage light design going into full blown rainbow euphoria mode (which is always a plus)
Anyway, it's still one of my favorite DVD concerts and was very well done and smartly put together with that unique and iconic Savage Garden sound and style that millions of Australians love plus many more around the world.
The documentary Parralell Lives is also very intamite and informative about the polar opposite personalities of Darren and Daniel, telling the story of their rise to fame and the tragic breakup which brought an end to Savage Garden and why that was the case. A very interesting music documentary looking into the life of Darren Hayes and Daniel Jones and the fateful desision.
It's just overall an electrifying, clean and overall incredible music experience. Still a blast to watch
