Storyline

The Cromwell clan live in the real world, except for their grandmother who lives in Halloweentown, a place where monsters go to escape reality. But now the son of the Cromwells' old enemy Kalabar has a plan to use the grandmother's book to turn Halloweentown into a grey dreary version of the real world, while transforming the denizens of the real world into monsters. Only Marnie, a fledgling witch, can thwart the evil scheme. Written by <crow_steve@hotmail.com>

Meh...
12 April 2008 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I usually like weird, kind of dark movies but this one was just... cheesy. The acting was pretty bad, even for amateurs. The script was all too obvious, the plot had potential but bad costuming and set design ruined it all. Many of the ideas seemed stolen (i.e. doesn't Halloweentown sound at all familiar, hmmm? Or the idea of wizard school?) Overall it was a pretty boring movie. Many lines were meant to be funny but just...weren't. It wasn't even bad in a good, funny way, just bad in a torturous fakey, boring way. Overall I would not suggest this movie unless you want your IQ to be lowered. But it might be o.k. for really little kids who just want a fun movie.
