In the Dangerous Brian Gladiator sketch. When Dangerous Brian challenges all the Gladiators to a Powerball match, Dangerous Brian uses a remote controlled Work Loader, which mocks the Work Loader from Aliens (1986) starring Sigourney Weaver.

The look of Jake the Robot was influenced by the Gremlins from Gremlins (1984) and like Stripe, the Gremlin's evil leader and the film's main antagonist. Jake also has a white Mohawk.
Brian would frequently mock the Gladiators from Gladiators (1992), another show from LWT, in the 4th and final season. In The Dangerous Brian sketches, Dangerous Brian challenged Wolf on the Eliminator and would also take on all the Gladiators in a game of Powerball and Zodiac made a cameo in a Septic Peg sketch.
Brian Conley's regular catchphrase in the show was "Shut it!". Which he would say to an audience member or the audience member himself when something goes wrong and when he breaks character in the Nick Frisbee sketches.
