Easily the best episode so far, Here comes the Mirror Man is cohesive, tense, and very well acted, and unlike the first two, there is a distinct threat, namely in the shape of Michael. Well written, very well made, this one has managed to ignite my interest in the series, which, after Toby had begun to fall. A clever play on a much used premise, Michael was a dark character indeed.
Phyllis Logan wasn't long out of Lovejoy, and it's no wonder that she's been a stalwart of TV since, she's fantastic, excellent in this episode, as is John Simm, who always managed to add some sincerity to unusual parts, no wonder he's the star he is now, a cracking performance from him also.
It is very Nineties. Made me feel nostalgic watching it.
