I love Lizzie!
11 August 2007 | by (Lowell, MA USA) – See all my reviews

Lizzie McGuire is just one of those shows, you simply have to love it. The tagline says it all, "Get inside her head!" It should be more like "Get inside our heads." It is so addictive, you want to be just like Lizzie. She has the coolest friends, she has a bratty little brother, and most important she has parents who love her and are a major support in her life.

I wish all girls had parents like Lizzie, they help her with homework, they give her advice on being a teenager in this cruel, sometimes brutal world we live in, and the best part is when the show gives us little insight from the animated Lizzie counterpart. Which by the way isn't so annoying after all. Lizzie McGuire ended it's run on Disney Channel after 65 episodes, that rule has since been broken by That's So Raven and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. The newest hit show Hannah Montana recently got picked up for a second season. Lizzie McGuire was actually the first milestone for Hilary Duff and it became Disney's highest rated original program. (High School Musical broke that record in 2006.)

Lizzie McGuire is wholesome, entertaining and actually funny. It reminds me of the witty sitcoms from the 80's, such as Punky Brewster and the Cosby Show. I love the show so much that I would drop everything to meet Hilary Duff in person. For today's violence-induced audience, Lizzie McGuire would be a yawn, but for me it's one of the best sitcoms on television for children and adults alike. It has charm, it has heart, and it has the ability to live on in TV land forever. Long live Lizzie!
