According to Ray Brooks' autobiography 'Learning My Lines' published in 2009, the role of pop star Red Mayne was written with Adam Faith in mind. Faith turned it down (fearing it might damage his reputation) and the role went instead to Brooks, who was required to dye his hair blond in order to more closely resemble Faith's image. See more
