Bad all around...

Warning: Spoilers
I purchased this movie based upon many good reviews from amazon.com, IMDb.com, and filmthreat.com. I enjoy suspense and psychological thrillers, so I figured this one was right up my alley. Unfortunately, I can only imagine that all the reviews I've read were written by people who have a vested interest in the movie - perhaps they work for Heretic Films or are blood relatives of the director? I don't know what the deal is, but this movie was given way too much credit in all its reviews.

The acting is poor. The story is predictable. The so-called suspense that other reviewers commented on is pretty much non-existent. How many times can someone slowly reach for a shower curtain, only to suddenly pull it back to reveal nothing out of the ordinary? I'm sorry, but if anyone is looking for a good suspense-filled, low budget flick, this isn't it. Keep browsing.

Pure waste of time

Warning: Spoilers
I rented this movie with the sincere expectations of seeing something... well... entertaining. What I got was a major disappointment. Cold Blood is a story that would have been left better as a book. It starts out with a man cracking his cheating wife over the head with a baseball bat with all the emotion of an experienced poker player. The acting never did get any better. The script would have been better left as a Dean Koontz paperback ripoff, with very traditional, stereotypical redneck thieves and farmhands as an ensemble cast. The director even manages to throw in a love interest in this cliché garbage.

Now, I'm not against low budget horror movies. We've all seen what can be done with something called talent. I can't even say anything positive about the costume design in this film.

Try again, director. Or maybe, don't.

good suspense thriller

Freez'er is a suspense-thriller about a guy who murders his wife and takes her body to an abandoned farmhouse, where he keeps it in a freezer. But strange things start happening, and it is hard to tell whether he is just going nuts from remorse or something supernatural is at work. There are some really scary moments and a few unexpected surprises in the story. The film is a little slow in the beginning, but it more than makes up for this with a great climax and its overall creepy mood. This is not a slasher movie or generic horror flick, so don't expect one. But if you like smart, unique and stylistic movies like I do, I highly recommend it.

Ensemble acting in a thinking person's thriller without loose ends.

You can think a lot about this film after seeing it (I did) and I do not think you will find anything that was left dangling (or at least anything unexplainable, it does require active viewer mental participation). There is dramatic comedy imbedded in this film, but there is no tongue in cheek; it takes itself very seriously. This film most reminds me of Hitchcock's Psycho but interweaves more key characters. Greed, malice, envy, relationships, no way out situations: these are all in here. Freez'er is a film with interesting sound design, ensemble acting, and a style that fits the content. It is scary but does not leave you feeling down or unsettled. Anyone interested to see quality production values done on low budget as well as anyone who enjoys films with unpredictable twists and for that matter unpredictable but believable characters will enjoy this film.

What a great film. I am a big fan of this Genre and This is one of the better directed Suspense Thrillers I've seen. It defies a low budget production to deliver that rarest of things in film - atmosphere. And this film reeks of atmosphere, the whole production just weaves its magic spell - music - location- cinematography and direction all combine into a masterpiece. With a subtle amount of foreshadowing the story is one of real people in a real situation and was a joy to watch. Don't miss this one.
