Social drama with a lot of suspense
17 January 2013 | by (Bucharest, Romania) – See all my reviews

I agree with the other reviewer that says the beast is unemployment. Yes, this is what this movie is about, make you wonder who the beast is, and the savage animal's action is shown in parallel with the closing of the mill and the subsequent workers' pickets. Between the killing of the animals and the lack of opportunities for employees, it's no surprise new beasts could be born any day. But the movie wouldn't be so absorbing if it wasn't for the way the atmosphere is created, by compelling music and by filming those vast landscapes as in a fairy tale, with fog and darkness and creepy sounds that add a lot of suspense. I would watch it just for that, alone; now add really good actors giving convincing performances, realistic and fresh. Surely worth seeing, just for that.
