In what folks may think about the overall status of BET's Programming, this is one of the reasons why the talk show "Oh Drama!" is total garbage at the bottom of the barrel. For starters, when the show first started, the subjects were mostly about everyday activities and concerns of the African-American community with mostly guest stars coming on talking in frank discussion about topics like the overall economy and the overall health majority of the black community. That was the first two seasons when the show meant something. That when I like it for what it stand for..............
Until, the show's whole concept of goodness came to a standstill and here's the real reason why the show is coming apart and falling from grace...
1. You had the change of hostesses..during the 2000-2001 season, actress Mari Marrow(from TV's One Life To Live)was completed dropped from the show for concerns and was replaced by an unknown hostess Julissa Marquez(who comes on board like a half dollar Alicia Keyes)and if you watch some of the segments this girl doesn't know when to keep her trap shut cause she always cut the person off when he or she is talking who is the special guest(like one part where her and the hostess Kim Whitley embrassed the crap of this R&B singer).
2. You have conflicts between the other hostesses Vanessa Bell-Calloway, Kim Whitley, and Sheryl Underwood. Underwood on the other hand, was very good but her confrontation was with Calloway, who if you looked at some of the segments with some of the guests, she just sits there and acts innocent like a prima ballerina and standing still and cute(check out her acting credits too is on the same level).....in other words just sits there and acts pretty. Underwood however, walked off the show because of the conflict, and has her own talk format called "Holla" which is on the same network. And finally, the main ring leader of the pack....Kim Whitley(from TV's Sparks and BET's Comicview)who comes off like a crazy person or in a sense a bat out of hell and acting like she doesn't have a bit of common sense(watch some of the segments and you'll see what I mean)and sometimes she just acts so ignorant.
*** The show has become the onslaught of Jenny Jones, and the beyond the point of normality of Jerry Springer, and I can tell it is going to that level unless this show gets it act together. Watch the show and you can tell the difference. The same can be said for the rest of the BET network. Total garbage of trash talk at the pathetical worst.
