Who are you?
Apparently Richard Whiteley did a stage show where he would interview well known guests without knowing in advance who was going to turn up and probably would not know who they were.
This later became two television specials (more likely pilots) for the BBC. The trouble was the show came across rather awkward because Whiteley not only struggled to recognise the guests but did not know much about them making the ensuing chat rather tricky. I remember Shovell the drummer from the band M People was one of the guests.
It would probably had worked with someone who was more in tune with celebrity culture maybe someone like Bob Monkhouse or Jeremy Beadle who had amazing recall of general knowledge and trivia that would had glossed over any hiccups when facing someone who they had little clue as to who they were.
