London-based dubstep duo Nero have collected their first UK singles chart number one with 'Promises'. The electronic act, otherwise known as Dan Stephens and Joe Ray, pushed Cher Lloyd's 'Swagger Jagger' from pole position with their fourth release in little over a year. Speaking to the Official Charts Company, Ray credited the momentous feat to the success of their January single 'Me & You' and their nomination for the BBC's 'Sound Of 2011' poll. "We'd been going since about 2004, then suddenly we had this number 15 hit," he said. "Before that, we were expected to carry on being an underground, word-of-mouth thing.
