Storyline

It has been two years since unsuccessful cartoonist, Tsube (Asano), started to live with Kuniko (Fujitani) casually in a small apartment. They are in the depths of poverty and can no longer pay the rent. As a result, they are forced to leave the apartment. Kuniko manages to find a live-in job and starts to work at a company dormitory as a cook. On the other hand, Tsube, being in a pitiful state without a penny to his name, winds up crashing at his friend, Kimoto's (Kanayama) place known as "Taihei Apartment" where Tsube himself used to live. One day Kuniko visits Tsube at the apartment while Kimoto is out. Tsube secretly tries to steal some money from Kuniko's purse and surprisingly finds a condom instead. He starts to suspect her infidelity. He imagines Kuniko having an affair with another man while reminiscing about his experiences with her. Eventually he discovers that she has been unfaithful and tried to kill himself by overdosing on pills. He wakes up in the hospital, where, ... Written by division 1656

Acid Trip?
6 February 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I Rented this movie because I am a huge fan of Tadanobu Asano, Ichi the killer. This movie is well directed but gets lost towards the end. They say two heads are better than one, but when you throw three great minds in to one movie I think you lose the plot a bit. Like Pink Floyds the wall, You may not really under stand the movie unless you are under the influence.

The movie starts off with a cryptic depiction of what looks like people rotting away on a beach with half naked girls around them. This sets off the whole feeling of the movie. a WTF kind of a feeling. You then go into the real world where Tsube is an Artist who can't get work, His wife leaves him, and he even can't commit suicide. The movie does follow the title with him getting Screwed. The highlight of the film ,in my opinion, was when Tsube was in the hospital and has to go to the bathroom, That gave me a few laughs. After this the movie just sort of falls apart. He goes on a journey and meets a lot of women, but the real kicker is when his arm is sliced open by a jelly fish, Let the acid trip ensue. I did enjoy parts of this movie so I give it a 7/10, Nothing spectacular.

Crocop Rules!
