Miss Colombia Laura González may have been the runner up at this year’s Miss Universe pageant, but in her early youth, ironically, she faced bullying for her looks: “When I was little I wasn’t the prettiest girl in my class,” she said. “In fact, kids made fun of me many times for one thing or another: my weight, my height, my hair, my clothes.” She spoke with People Chica about how she transformed herself into a paragon of beauty and shared the fitness and health tips she used to become beauty pageant beautiful.

Her workout routine focused on cardiovascular exercise and functional training.

Ratings: Fox’s Soft ‘Miss Universe’ Places Sunday Crown on NBC’s Beautiful Head

  • The Wrap
Gorgeous women were no match for sweaty football players on Sunday. The 2017 Miss Universe pageant on Fox was trampled in Nielsen ratings by “Sunday Night Football’s” Green Bay Packers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game, which easily won the evening for NBC. Though the Steve Harvey-hosted beauty (and talent?) competition didn’t grab the primetime crown, it did push Fox ahead of ABC for third place. Gliding on that strong “Sunday Night Football” game, NBC finished first in ratings with a 4.2 rating/14 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 13.7 million, according to preliminary numbers.

Steve Harvey Jokes That the Oscars' Best Picture Flub Let Him 'Off the Hook' While Hosting Miss Universe 2017

Steve Harvey Jokes That the Oscars' Best Picture Flub Let Him 'Off the Hook' While Hosting Miss Universe 2017
Steve Harvey was ready for the comparisons between his infamous Miss Universe mix-up and this year's Oscars Best Picture flub, where Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway accidentally announced that La La Land was the year's Best Picture, instead of the correct winner, Moonlight.

During the announcement of the top 16 contestants of the 2017 Miss Universe pageant on Sunday, the Family Feud host called out the mistake for its similarity to his own blunder in 2015, when he announced Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, as the winner, when it was supposed to be Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach.

"I'll tell you what I'm grateful for this Thanksgiving weekend. I'm grateful for the Oscars. 'Cause it let me off the hook," he joked. "So, you can sit here and act like you didn't see what Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway did, but it got me off the hook."

They all look like a teenage girl from Ghana.

“Growing up in an all-girls school wasn’t the easiest. I was brutally bullied and to the point that I was once beaten by one of my peers,” Sedky, 23, tells People. “To this day, I still remember her looking down at me on the ground and saying, ‘I

Wonder Woman herself is about to bless my unborn child. "Can I?" she asks, before spreading her long fingers around my pregnant belly. Her hands feel warm and maternal. She holds my gaze, unwavering. "Girl or boy?" she asks. "Girl," I tell her. Her smile widens. "Being a woman is a strength," she says. "In so many ways."

The talk show host, who infamously announced the wrong winner at the Miss Universe pageant in 2015, spoke with Extra’s Mario Lopez about how he felt watching a similar situation unfold at the Academy Awards on Sunday.

“I felt really good and warm and fuzzy on the inside,” he joked. “I actually lit a cigar and got a glass of scotch and celebrated.”

He added, “I was sitting there going, ‘Yeah, okay,’ because, you know, for a whole year I’ve been hearing, ‘Oh, how could he?
