There are a few sexual references in this film

A man hires a prostitute

One of the characters is revealed to be a pedophile.

One man tries to rape a comatose woman, guided by another man who did regularly.

A girl asks a man if he wants to "screw her". He says yes. Then she stabs him and says, "do you still want to penetrate me or is it i who has penetrated you".

The basis of the story is the attempted murder of a pregnant woman.

In order of appearance.

In black and white, a woman very bruised and bloody gets shot in the head with blood splattering next to her briefly. You later see the aftermath in color, with blood pooling under her head.

2 women fight for about a minute and they both get bloody. Later, one stabs the other by throwing a knife. There is almost no blood, just a very small amount around the knife.

A woman bites another mans tongue off-screen, then showed briefly is the woman stretching the tongue of the man, and she bites it off off-screen. You later see blood all over her, and briefly see blood around the dead man.

A man gets his head slammed in between a door in a wall, no blood.

In an animated sequence, a mother and father are killed. The father fights with the assassin until he eventually gets stabbed with an extreme amount of blood spurting everywhere. The mother is then thrown on a bed (and the daughter is hiding under the bed) and stabbed through the chest, and blood drops onto the daughter. The daughter then seeks revenge by stabbing the man in the chest with some blood until she takes out the sword and an incredibly extreme amount of blood sprays literally everywhere including the walls, floor, body, and the girl.

In the same animated sequence, a man is shot in the head with a sniper, and blood and bits of brain splatter everywhere.

In an introduction of a character, a 17 year old girl and an adult male talk, when the girl asks if he wants to "screw her" and he agrees. She then stabs him in the stomach (all you can see is the neck and above) and says "do you still want to penetrate me, or is it i who has penetrated you?" she then pulls the sword out and you can see a lot of blood flow out for about a second.

A man is beheaded at a dinner table. His head rolls onto the table, and an huge amount of blood (almost resembling a fountain) sprays upward. The woman who beheaded him then holds up his head.

Chapter 5, the showdown at the house of blue leaves, is incredibly bloody, with all of the events listed below.

A woman has her arm suddenly sliced off with a sword with an extreme amount of blood spraying everywhere. She is later shown in a large pool of blood. After this scene, the bride has blood on her shirt for the rest of the movie.

5 assassins go against the bride, but not a lot of blood is shown.

2 woman fight, one has a sword, and the other has a spike ball. They fight for a while, and 1 woman gets a large cut on her shoulder. It ends with one woman who has a block of wood with a spike stabbing the other in the foot, with blood shown pooling on her shoe, and then she stabs her in the head off-screen with the same weapon. She is shown later with the block of wood in attached to her head, and blood streaming down her eyes.

In the bloodiest fight, the bride goes against 88 assassins. All of what happens is listed below

Many people get slashed with swords, with moderate bloody results.

2 men are briefly seen with a lot of blood spurting out of their chest.

Three men are stabbed at the same time, blood splatters onto the ground.

As she plucks out somebodies eye, it turns into black and white.

MANY people are stabbed.

A man is briefly seen with an axe in his chest, and the later a man with an axe in his face.

A man is beheaded.

The bride cuts off many people's feet.

A lot of limbs are cut off, mostly legs and arms.

A man is cut in half vertically

A couple people are stabbed with minimal blood.

A pool is seen blood red.

In a fight sequence, people are shadows, while the rest is blue. A lot of people are stabbed, and many limbs are chopped off.

The aftermath is then seen, with a LOT of people lying in pools of blood and holding their limbs.

2 woman fight with swords. One slices the other's back, and they fall down. After a bit, they get up, and they stab the other in the leg, and blood is seen. In the end, one chops the top part of the other one's head off, with blood seen splattering on the snow, and the part of the head briefly seen flying. The woman is then shown with her cranium exposed to the camera. You can clearly see her brain, and a lot of blood and muscle.

Contains very strong language

About twenty uses of the word 'fuck', a few times used sexually and paired with 'mother'. 'Cunt' is said twice. Several uses of damn, god damn, bitch, shit and other profanities.

Contains scenes of alcohol consumption and brief smoking

Characters are infrequently seen smoking and drinking.

A 17-year-old girl is seen drinking heavily from a bottle in a bar. She slams it down aside scattered empty glasses.

There is a long scene depicting the preparation and imminent poisoning of The Bride - while she is still comatose, - by Elle Driver though this 'mission' is aborted by Bill at the last minute.

The anime segment of the movie is quite intense. Highly artistic; the depiction of the brutal murder of a married couple while their daughter watches undetected below a bed is very graphic and shocking. Similarly, it seems to have seriously psychologically damaged the daughter.

The Showdown at House of Blue Leaves chapter contains an intensely violent and gory fight between The Bride and dozens of Katana-wielding men constituting 'The Crazy 88.' In all versions but the Japanese release, this scene is partially shown in monochrome to avoid drawing more stringent censorship.

O-Ren Ishii's death scene, in which the top part of her head is chopped off, may be disturbing to some viewers. Though the actual action itself is not seen, only the aftermath, where her open head and brain are visible, is actually shown. This in and of itself can be shocking to viewers.

Much of the violence is over the top and stylized which reduces the intensity somewhat.
