Trivia

Billy Crystal did not want to host this show and refused many offers from producer Gil Cates to change his mind. After refusing the third time, Cates sent Crystal a stuffed horse's head made up to look like the horse he rode in City Slickers (1991). "The Ham-bone" finally wins Best Actor
8 November 2001 | by (Parkersburg, West Virginia) – See all my reviews

Al Pacino finally wins Best Actor for the hammiest performance since George Arliss's "Disraeli"!! Of course we all know that he won because he had 7 losses before and they felt sympathy for him. Also, this was the year that Marisa Tomei caused an upset for winning Best Supporting Actress for "My Cousin Vinny".
