Matt Lucas joins Judd Apatow's 'Bridesmaids'

18 June 2010 1:42 AM, PDT | | See recent news »

Matt Lucas is joining Universal Pictures' comedy "Bridesmaids" which is being produced by comedy king Judd Apatow. Also joining the cast are Ellie Kemper of "The Office," Jill Clayburgh ("Dirty Sexy Money"), Chris O'Dowd ("Dinner for Schmucks"), Wendi McLendon-Covey of"Reno 911!" and Melissa McCarthy ("The Back-up Plan"). Lucas played Tweedledee / Tweedledum in Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" blockbuster. Kristen Wiig stars as a maid of honor making every attempt to please the snooty, rich bridesmaids at every pre-wedding event before her best friend's nuptials. Rose Byrne and Maya Rudolph also star in the film which Wiig wrote with Annie Mumolo. Paul Feig ("Knocked Up," "Stealing Harvard") directs. Apatow produces via his Apatow Productions alongside Barry Mendel. »
