Host Karl Malden host this retrospective of the memorable moments from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science's Award Shows since 1971 to 1991. In addition to the simple sampling of winners from the major categories, this film also covers other elements of the show like political statements made by participants, low points like the streaker and high points like John Wayne's last appearance and Charles Chaplin's acceptance of his lifetime achievement award. Very enjoyable for all of the Academy Award moments of old. I, especially love watching all of those moments and only wish that the actual telecasts of the Academy Awards were available for purchase. Too bad that they did not do a collection of videos from the televised Oscar moments from 1951-1971--that would have been a nice companion piece to this one. If you get a chance to see this one, then by all means do--if you like seeing all the real stars from back then!!
