Hey, it was better than '92
wwfhistoryguy19 June 2004
Warning: Spoilers
*SPOILERS*

The year before, there was only one survival match, pitting two teams no one cared about against each other. And one great match, as Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels took their house feud into the pay per view realm. Otherwise, it was mediocre or less, with a tag team main event that should have been much better than it was.

This one had the same recipe that the previous years provided: lots of exciting, unpredictable matches that you could enjoy and forget about tomorrow. The opening match was vintage Survivor Series: a mixture of big names and second-tier stars, with the big names leaving early and the second-tier stars (Jannetty and the Kid) surviving. For the first time, every member of one team made an elimination.

The Harts-Knights match was pretty good, as Owen Hart finally got his chance to rise to the occasion as one of the WWF's best all-around wrestlers. He was dominant, even if he was the only Hart brother who didn't survive. From this point on, he became one of the premiere WWF stars.

The Smoky Mountain match was a little slow, but the Doinks match was genius.

How they came to the conclusion that the Bushwhackers and Men on a Mission should be the 4 Doinks is beyond me, but it resulted in the most entertaining Survivor Series match since the 20-man tag team matches from the first two years. Plus, the Bushwhackers finally got to have their first moment to shine in a Survivor Series.

The main event was OK, although the Steiners could have done better.

Not the best, but again, better than '92.

The event that turned Owen Hart into a budding star!
callanvass29 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Live from Boston, MA

Attendance, 15, 509

Your hosts are Vince McMahon & Bobby Heenan

I.R.S, Diesel, Adam Bomb, and Rick Martel Vs Razor Ramon, Randy Savage, The 123 Kid, and Marty Janetty

Here are the eliminations

Diesel by Randy Savage (Flying elbow drop)

Randy Savage by I.R.S (roll-up after a distraction by Crush)

I.R.S by Razor Ramon (Razor's Edge)

Razor Ramon by countout (I.R.S drilled him with his briefcase to knock him out of the ring)

Rick Martel by The 123 Kid (victory roll)

Adam Bomb by Marty Janetty (slingshot sunset flip)

Sole Survivors: The 123 Kid & Marty Janetty

Mr. Perfect was originally supposed to be on Razor's team, but his back flared up and Savage became his replacement. This match was a really fun opener that was consistently exciting. I don't think anybody expected the big names like Razor and Savage to be eliminated. The big story here is The 123 Kid and Marty Janetty's upset. The 123 Kid and Janetty being the sole survivors told a nice underdog story.

***1/2

Shawn Michaels, The Black Knight, The Blue Knight, and The Red Knight Vs The Hart Family (Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Bruce Hart, and Keith Hart)

The Black Knight by Owen Hart (Missile dropkick from the top)

The Red Knight by Bret Hart (Sharpshooter)

The Blue Knight by Owen Hart (Sharpshooter)

Owen Hart by Shawn Michaels (roll-up)

Shawn Michaels by countout

Sole Survivors: Bret Hart, Keith Hart, and Bruce Hart.

Jerry Lawler was originally supposed to be the captain of the Knights, but he was replaced by Shawn Michaels. Jeff Gaylord is the Black Knight, Greg Valentine is the Blue Knight, and Barry Horrowitz is the Red Knight. After the match, Owen is irate over his elimination and dissension commences between Owen and Bret. For some reason, Bruce and Keith Hart did a lot of the heavy lifting in the match. As a result, this was a tad boring at times. Bret and Owen's presence automatically mitigates things a bit, but they didn't wrestle enough. This match is memorable because it was the start of Owen's heel turn.

**

Gorilla Monsoon almost hits Bobby Heenan until Heenan starts cowering and pleading with Gorilla. Nothing really comes of it. Gorilla would eventually kick Heenan out of the WWE on an episode of Raw a few weeks later.

Smoky Mountain Tag Team Championship

Rock 'N' Roll Express (C) Vs The Heavenly Bodies (W/Jim Cornette)

This is associated with Smoky Mountain Wrestling. The Heavenly Bodies win the titles after some cheating by using a tennis racket. This was thrown together without much fan fare, but it was still a a really good match! Both teams are pros, who know exactly what they are doing.

***1/2

Bam Bam Bigelow, Bastion Booger & The Headshrinkers Vs The Bushwhackers & Men on a Mission.

Oh, god! The Bushwhackers and Men on a Mission are dressed up like Doink. The fans are into this, yet they are silent during a great tag match between The Heavenly Bodies and The Rock 'N' Roll Express? Okay then. This is one of the stupidest matches I've ever seen. It's nothing but an unfunny comedy match that made me roll my eyes. I checked my brain at the door and I still found it stupid. Poor, Bam Bam. Afterwards, Doink shows up on the titantron and makes fun of Bigelow.

1/2*

Eliminations.

Samu by a Bushwhacker (roll-up)

Bastion Booger by Mabel (legdrop)

Fatu by Butch (Fatu slips on a banana peel, then Butch rolls him up)

Bam Bam Bigelow by Mabel (big splash)

Sole Survivors: Men on a Mission & The Bushwhackers.

The Foreign Fanatics (Yokozuna, Ludvig Borga, Crush, and Jacques) vs The All-Americans (Lex Luger, The Undertaker & The Steiner Brothers)

*1/2

Eliminations.

Rick Steiner by Ludvig Borga (A botched powerslam in mid-air off the top. Borga tried to catch him and he couldn't hold on. Borga pins him anyway)

Crush by countout (Randy Savage runs down and brawls with Crush)

Jacques by Lex Luger (pointed elbow drop from the second turnbuckle)

Scott Stiner by Yokozuna (legdrop)

The Undertaker & Yokozuna (Both of them brawl on the floor to a double countout)

Ludvig Borga by Lex Luger (running forearm)

Sole Survivor: Lex Luger

This wasn't exactly terrible or anything, but it was a relatively mundane main event. The main problem with this match is the lack of talent. The Steiner's were eliminated early and The Undertaker was still in his zombie phase. I felt no-selling a Banzai drop from Yokozuna was a bit much.

*1/2

Final Thoughts:

This is a pretty average event for the most part. It started the beginning of Owen Hart's heel turn, the opener was fun, and we got a really good tag team match from Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Aside from that, there is nothing special about this show at all. After Hogan left, Vince tried the Luger experiment. It failed miserably.

This one was rearranged too much
NukeIt214 February 2002
First off, the main event was supposed to be Lex Luger, the Steiners and TATANKA vs. Yokozuna, Ludvig Borga, Jacques and PIERRE. For reasons that I don't know, Tataka was "injured" and replaced by the Undertaker, and Pierre was taken out to make room for Crush. I am guessing that the reason is that the Undertaker was one of the biggest superstars in the WWF and they needed to put him somewhere (sort of a setup for the 1994 Royal Rumble match: Undertaker vs. Yokozuna), while they possibly put Crush in to try to get him to become more of a "bad guy" (he had just turned heel after being a face).

The first match was supposed to be Razor Ramon, Mr Perfect, Marty Jannetty, and the 123 Kid vs. IRS, Diesel, Adam Bomb and Rick Martel, but due to injuries, Mr. Perfect was replaced by Macho Man Randy Savage. The WWF did not make this clear until just before the match began.

The whole family feud began when Jerry the King Lawler insulted the Harts and this set the match between Lawler and his Knights vs. 4 Hart brothers, but weeks before the Survivor Series Lawler took some time away from the WWF and they used Shawn Michaels in his place, and acted as if Lawler never existed!

Another funny thing about this match is that only 3 of the 8 participents were WWF superstars at the time! Keith and Bruce Hart had a 1 time deal, and the 3 Knights (Greg Valentine, Barry Horowitz and Jeff Gaylord) only did this one time with the gimmicks to my knowledge.

Funny thing about the match advertised as 4 Doinks vs. Bam Bam Bigelow, Bastian Booger and Headshrinkers is the fact that no Doink was involved. The Bushwackers and Men on a Mission fought this match wearing Doink masks and make up!

I'm not going to spoil the results for you, but I will say that I don't think that this was the greatest Survivor Series. But, hell, this IS a WWF Survivor Series, and i give it a 9 out of 10!

Rock Bottom
zkonedog25 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
After SummerSlam '93, which showed promise for the future, Survivor Series 1993 hit rock bottom with an utterly embarrassing event from start to finish.

Some examples of the ridiculousness: -Dumb characters like Adam Bomb, Ludvig Borga, & Bastion Booger (as embarrassing, if not worse, as Giant Gonzalez in terms of gimmick and wrestling skills). -A match of a bunch of wrestlers in Doink masks, as well as introducing the Hart family brothers into the mix (solely as a way to stoke a Bret/Owen feud...but no one cares about the other brothers). -Lex Luger's continuous ball-dropping in holding Hogan's mantle. -A sad return from Macho Man Randy Savage, a shell of his former self. -Tag Titles change hands (Heavenly Bodies beat Rock'N'Roll Express)...but no on cares because the teams and match are so lame.

The only talent apparent on this program was The Undertaker, Razor Ramon, and Bret/Owen Hart. Not nearly enough to make this dreck entertaining. To say this one can be skipped is an understatement...it SHOULD be skipped.

An average show which set up 1994
bh_tafe36 March 2009
Warning: Spoilers
The WWE decided to go back to the traditional format for Survivor Series in 1993, having mainly Survivor Series matches, and no title matches.

The night started with a four on four Survivor Series match which combined several feuds going on at the time. In the end the team of Razor Ramon, 1-2-3 Kid, Mr Perfect and Marty Janetty defeating the team of Diesel, Irwin R Shyster, Rick Martel and Adam Bomb. The match came down to 1-2-3 Kid and Janetty vs Rick Martel and Adam Bomb. The Kid pinned Martel with a sunset flip and Janetty then super kicked Adam Bom to win the match for his team with he and the Kid the Survivors.

The next match was originally scheduled to be a continuation in the Bret Hart/ Jerry Lawler rivalry, but Lawler was arrested on rape charges and so Shawn Michaels took his spot in the match. And it was the Hart Brothers (Bret, Owen, Bruce and Keith) who defeated Shawn Micheals and his knights with Owen the only Hart eliminated. Owen was very unhappy with Bret at the end of the match, blaming him for his elimination. He had a bit of a point as Bret had left the match for a period after getting thrown out of the ring. He returned only for Owen to run into him, allowing Michaels to pin him.

Next up in a strange match, the Heavenly Bodies (Bruce Prichard and Jimmy Del Ray) defeated the Rock n Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) to win the Smokey Valley Wrestling Tag Team Titles.

This was followed by the team of four Doinks, which was actually The Bushwackers (Butch and Luke) and Men on a Mission (Mabel and Mo) defeating the team of Bam Bam Bigelow, Bastion Booger and the Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu). The doinks used mischief to win the comedy match, including a water fulled balloon and lots of other water gags. None of the Doinks were eliminated and all four of them pinned Bigelow to end the match. Doink then cuts a wacky promo on the titan tron taunting Bigelow. Can't even describe this. Kind of fun, very silly.

This brings us to the main event as the All-Americans Lex Luger, The Undertaker and the Steiner Brothers defeated The Foreign Fanatics (WWE Champion Yokozuna, Ludvig Borga, Quebecer Jacques and Crush). Borga screwed up something really badly in pinning Rick Steiner. Crush was tagged in and then distracted by: RANDY SAVAGE!!!! The Macho Man is here!!! He followed Savage out if the ring and was counted out. Luger took care of Jacques. Yokozuna then pinned Scott Steiner leaving us two on two. The Undertaker sat up after a Banzai drop and he and Yokozuna brawled out of the ring, both men were counted out. So it came down to Borga and Luger. They go back and forth briefly, but Luger gets on top, hits the running fore arm smash and wins the match for his team. USA wins. Then for some reason Santa Claus comes out to the ring to help Luger celebrate. Not a bad match really.

Well, this was just a filler event really. It set up some big matches down the road, but didn't resolve any of the issues going in. The in ring action was so-so and some of the gimmicks were farcical. Not a good PPV and one of the weaker ones the WWE had put on to that point.

how I could change this PPV to make it better if doing so was possible
technoviper7212 September 2008
Warning: Spoilers
This Survivor Series is a LOT better than the PRECEDING year's, especially as it went back to the formula of the elimination/tag format; even though this one, like the Survivor Series from three years prior, could have been better than it ALREADY was.

I wish I could go back in time and (THIS is how this one could have been a lot better) help Bam Bam Bigelow's team win, since the Bushwhackers and Men on a Mission dressed as CLOWNS which, not only I have a fear about, are said to be frightening to young children. Bigelow was even outnumbered four to one.

Though I imagine a new WWF video game featuring all forty of the wrestlers from the Survivor Series from three years prior including Mustafa and Adnan, as well as the following wrestlers from THIS Survior Series: Razor Ramon, The 1-2-3 Kid, Macho Man Randy Savage, I.R.S., Diesel, Adam Bomb, Bam Bam Bigelow, Bastion Booger, The Headshrinkers - Fatu and Samu, Men on a Mission - Mabel and Mo, Lex Luger, The Steiner Brothers - Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner, Yokozuna and Ludvig Borga

Razor Ramon's team VS I.R.S.'s team Savage pinned Diesel, Razor pinned Schyster, The Kid pinned Martel, Janetty pinned Adam Bomb and he and the Kid were the survivors

Bret and his brothers VS Shawn and his Knights The Blue Knight (who was Greg Valentine, former half of Rhythm and Blues) was eliminated via sharpshooter courtesy of Bret's youngest brother and Michaels left the ring when he was outnumbered three to one when Bret attempted the sharpshooter on his arch enemy and was counted out; Bret was one of the three survivors of his team

All-Americans VS Foreign Fanatics Crush was counted out when he left the ring to fight with his former friend Savage, Yokozuna was counted out, Luger pinned Borga and was the survivor

I omitted the REST of the results since they were the wrestlers I didn't WANT to see get eliminated (even though in my PERSONAL view, what matters is a wrestler's TEAM survives even if an actual WRESTLER becomes eliminated).

This match, unlike the 1990 Survivor Series which most people prefer to THIS one, despite it being not as sophisticated as THIS one, even featured some not-so-good wrestlers (I mean they weren't good in MY view; I know OTHERS disagree] - Owen, Bruce and Keith Hart, the OTHER two Knights in black and red (the BLUE Knight wasn't good EITHER, stupid gimmick for Valentine in my personal view), that CRETIN Doink and Jacques Rougeau of the tag team I personally didn't rate much - the Quebecers.

It's actually GOOD that IDIOT Jerry the King Lawler, Tatanka and Quebecer Pierre were all unable to participate, as well as it was better that the Bushwhackers and Men on a Mission wrestled instead of Doink and three Doink duplicates.

Savage was even actually a better teammate (in MY view, others can disagree) on Razor's team than Perfect.

Ouch. And I thought some of the other ones were bad.
morantjavonte20 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Survivor Series 1993 Thoughts

Survivor Series 1993 was the 7th annual Survivor Series PPV event produced by the WWF. Show was live on November 24, 1993. It was held at the Boston Garden in Boston, Massachusetts with an attendance of 15,509. The buyrate from home was 180,000. Ouch! This was both the lowest attended and brought Survivor Series up to this point. When you look at this thin roster and the card, it's not too surprising.

5 matches were on the card. 4 were the traditional survivor series matches and a tag team title match for the Smoking Mountain Wrestling Tag Team Titles. 2 changes were up in place as Tatanka was replaced by the Undertaker for the main event and Jerry Lawler was randomly taken out of his match on-screen which was mostly because of being accused of raped and sodomizing a teen girl. Turned out to be false but something to look up another time.

The Good - It's insane the best match of the night was not cared about at all by the crowd that was dead with little chants of boring the entire match. Was pretty much a Bathroom break for the crowd. That match was the SMW tag team title match. It was obvious this was a talent exchange because the WWF again were very low on talent. The Rock N Roll Express were a popular team in the 1980s and into the early 1990s, but they were more known for being in the south. If this was in a southern city instead of Boston I think the fans would have cared more. I also enjoyed the opening survivor series match too. It got a little stale in the middle but a good match at the end.

The Meh - I couldn't get invested in the main event. Lex Luger at the time was attempted to be pushed as the big face but it's again so obvious around this timing he couldn't be put at the top. The main event was just kind of boring with the only memorable thing was the set up for Yokozuna vs. Undertaker.

The Bad - Poor Bam Bam. Being in such an awful match for the night. The survivor series match featuring the Men on a Mission & Bushwhackers as the Doink Clowns was probably one of the worst matches I've ever seen. It wasn't funny and the crowd chanting for the actual Doink to appear was just proof how bad this match was. Again extremely terrible. Also sad how the Hart Brothers vs. HBK & the Knights ended up being a drag. 3 great men in that match couldn't even save the match.

Overall - Show bombed very badly. There were a lot of replacements on this show and it was a sign of WWE not being at their best. They had a lot of issues on screen and behind the scenes as well. Some regard 1993 as THE worst year ever for WWE. Might be correct when your only good show at the time of this period is King of the Ring (a show I haven't seen in a while).

Score - 3 out of 10: Bad

0 = Terrible : 1 = Bad/Lackluster : 2 = Decent : 3 = Good : 4 = Awesome : 5 = One of the Best of all Time

1. Adam Bomb, Diesel, Irwin R. Schyster & Rick Martel vs. Marty Jannetty, Randy Savage, Razor Ramon & The 1-2-3 Kid (Elimination Tag) - 3/5

2. Shawn Michaels, Black Knight, Blue Knight & Red Knight vs. The Hart Brothers (Bret Hart, Bruce Hart, Keith Hart & Owen Hart) (Elimination Tag) - 1/5

3. The Rock 'N' Roll Express vs. The Heavenly Bodies: SMW Tag Team Championship - 3.5/5

4. Bam Bam Bigelow, Bastion Booger & The Headshrinkers vs. Men on a Mission & The Bushwhackers (Elimination Tag) - 0/5

5. The All-Americans (Lex Luger, Rick Steiner, Scott Steiner & The Undertaker) vs. The Foreign Fanatics (Crush, Jacques, Ludvig Borga & Yokozuna) (Elimination Tag) - 2/5

Best Match - The Rock 'N' Roll Express vs. The Heavenly Bodies

Worst Match - Bam Bam Bigelow, Bastion Booger & The Headshrinkers vs. Men on a Mission & The Bushwhackers. Such a stupid match.

Most Memorable Moment - Owen Hart teased Heel turn. Lead to something great coming soon.

Top 5 Performers

1. Rock 'N' Roll Express - Good Performance

2. Heavenly Bodies - Good Performance

3. 1-2-3 Kid - Good Performance

4. Marty Jannetty - Good Performance

5. Razor Ramon - Good Performance.

Survivor Series 93 was a huge turkey of a show. It was unbelieve lousy. Not worth gobbling up!
ironhorse_iv28 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Somedays I really wish I can go cold turkey and stop watching pro wrestling from yesteryears, especially anything from the early days of the World Wrestling Federation's New Generation era. That period of time is not really worth revisiting even for nostalgia reasons. The lows really outdo the highs in terms of entertainment. Such was the case when the seventh annual Survivor Series PPV came out on Thanksgiving Eve in 1993. The show held at the Boston Gardens in Boston, Massachusetts isn't really worth squat besides the tease that Owen Hart & Bret Hart might come to blows. Other than that, the event didn't really have any stakes as no federation titles were on the line nor resolved, as the majority of the feuds remained unresolved and carried on to future events. Even the in ring match qualities were no good. For example, the preshow match between Billy Gunn versus jobber the Brooklyn Brawler was so mediocre that they didn't even aired in the preshow for the event. It was totally dark. Instead the real card start with a series of four on four elimination matches where most of the members were either replacement due to getting the pink slips or legal issues. For example, the contest between the team of the 1-2-3 Kid, Marty Jannetty, Randy Savage and Razor Ramon facing off against Adam Bomb, Diesel, Irwin R. Schyster and Rick Martel (with Harvey Wippleman) was originally supposed to have Mr. Perfect in the secondary leadership role prior to Savage coming back from commentary. However, Curt Henning was unable to appear in the role due to issues relating to his body & the lack of focus toward his career by the company, so he outed to quit the Federation to focus more on spending time with his family. Because of that the match somewhat suffer. Don't get wrong, Macho Man was still awesome to see and he was not rusty at all, but Savage was rarely used in the contest. Instead the focus of the match went to having then younger moveable baby face with awful looking ring attire talents working over a team mostly full of stiff, mostly green and immobile hosses with rolls ups & odd pinning attempt. It wasn't as good as the bout could had been. Nevertheless, it was lightyears better than the four on four Survivor Series match between The Bushwhackers (Butch and Luke) and Men on a Mission (Mabel and Mo) (with Oscar) against Bam Bam Bigelow, Bastion Booger, and The Headshrinkers (Fatu and Samu) (with Afa and Luna Vachon) all dress as Doink the Clown. This was hot trash contest with the slow unfunny comedy overtaking the wrestling. Most of the juvenile jokes didn't land for me as I found it annoying childish and silly. Plus, I hated that the real Doink was nowhere to be found. Sadly, the original wrestler Matt Borne was fired weeks earlier and they were still trying to find a full time replacement. While that contest was crap, at least, the next four on four Survivor Series elimination match between 'The Hart Family' (Bret Hart, Bruce Hart, Keith Hart and Owen Hart) (with Stu Hart) versus Shawn Michaels and His Knights (The Black Knight AKA Jeff Greylord, the Blue Knight otherwise known as Greg 'the Hammer' Valentine & The Red Knight which was Barry Horowitz) was a little bit better. Like the opening contest, this too had a member replaced. This time, it was the heel captain Jerry Lawler who was fighting against publicized sexual assault allegations for raping an underage girl. Because of that the whole medieval monarch storyline doesn't even make that much sense with his absence as Heart Break Kid gimmick has nothing to do with royalty. Regardless, the WWF could had use the knighthood scenario better to bring back some really needed talent to the company such as Jimmy Snuka & Terry Funk or build upon the workers behind the masks. Instead, this was a one night thing much in the same vein as the other Harts wrestling. As a fight, it wasn't that great, but as building up a feud, the in match story somewhat works. One thing that didn't have a good impact was having Smoky Mountain Wrestling in the Federation. I found the whole contest between middle aged talents, The Rock 'n' Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) wrestling The Heavenly Bodies (Tom Prichard and Jimmy Del Ray) fighting for their tag team titles to be jarring. While the match was decent, the fans couldn't care less. I too never cared to see other promotions being promoted within the WWF. This brings us to the main event Survivor Series match: The All Americans (Lex Luger, The Steiner Brothers (Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner) and The Undertaker) (with Paul Bearer) versus The Foreign Fanatics (Crush, Quebecer Jacques, Ludvig Borga and Yokozuna) (with Jim Cornette, Johnny Polo and Mr. Fuji). Honestly, replacing the original injury wrestlers Tatanka and Pierre Carl Ouellet with Undertaker & Crush was a bit bizarre. I can understand why the Native American Tatanka didn't want to wrestle on Thanksgiving, but how does a supposedly dead guy really love Fourth of July over Halloween with his very patriotic trench coat!? It makes little sense. To tell you the truth, Undertaker should had been place in the opening brawl instead. Savage could had replace him as the Macho Man has some unfinished business with Yokozuna from Royal Rumble 1993 and the events leading up to that year's SummerSlam. As for Crush, it was a bit odd to see a Hawaiian in a foreign group as a turncoat, but whatever, Yokozuna is really from California in real life. In the end, the main event was alright even if the champ is very limited in what he can do and everybody move in a snail paced. Overall: 'Survivor Series' was not quite a feast for your eyes. It's the Dinty Moore of wrestling shows. Not worth getting your hands on.

Survival to the last draw
Playa997818 March 2004
Warning: Spoilers
The Survivor Series exploded from the sold-out Boston Garden on the eve of Thanksgiving on November 24, 1993. I saw this event live, and thought it was decent at best. I will give you the recap in succession:

Spoilers ahead, BEWARE!!!

The first match pitted Razor Ramon's team vs. IRS's team. The Razor took out IRS in the medium, and then was later knocked off by IRS. That was rather strange, and even lame to an extent. At the end, the 123-Kid and Marty Jannetty pull roll-up pins on Rick Martel and Adam Bomb in a matter of seconds. That Stinks! It could've gone longer and should've been better edited at this point. Most of the action is at the early stages, and they're not very interesting. Rating C

The Second match features "The Hart Family vs. "Shawn Michaels and 3 Knights". This match was okay, but rather dull in the beginning moments of the bout. No one cares for these three men with masks, and nobody gives a damn about loser brothers helping Bret and Owen (the only stars on the good side, with Shawn Michaels on the heels). However, after the knights are gone, Shawn Michaels is left all by himself, until things go amiss, and Owen is rolled up into a pin, wounding up as the only Hart brother eliminated from the encounter. Later, Bret and the crew pound Michaels into oblivion and the Heartbreak Kid finally bails, and runs from the ring, ending up a count-out as the end result. The crowd boos, but hey, Shawn Michaels wasn't about to let the Hart brothers destroy his pretty face. He took a good enough beating anyway, and besides, it leaves more to be desired knowing that Michaels got off the hook. Now, back to the match, Bret and two brothers survive, but Owen is p**sed for being the only brother taken out and makes it known. Rating C+

The Smokey Mountain tag-team title match stunk, and it was boring. I'm not gonna even bother covering the details of this match. It bores me to even think about it. Rating D-

The four Doinks in the form of the Bushwhackers and M.O.M against the team of Bam Bam Bigelow, Bastion Boogar and the Headshrinkers also was poorly scripted. None of the so-called Doinks were eliminated! What kind of crap is that! They weren't that good a team, and where was the real Doink at anyway! This was awful. Rating F

The All-Americans vs. The Foreign Fanatics makes for a better climax sorely needed to salvage a lackluster event. The Steiners are knocked off by the bad guys, and the Undertaker and Yokozuna battle it out to the delight of the crowd. This set up the much anticipated Royal Rumble between the Undertaker and Yokozuna for the world title in the months to come. Back to the action, Ludvig Borga and Lex Luger get it on at the end, and though Luger suffers greatly, he manages to regain his composure and defeat Borga to close out the match as the sole survivor. Suddenly, Santa Claus runs out with a present to give the winner. Don't know what that was about. Rating B

No one survives this one well
paudieconnolly3 May 2021
Shawn Michaels worker of the night. Stu Hart biggest punch and pop from the crowd. Gorilla & brain swapping seats better than the matches. Four clowns get the biggest cheer of the night. That the highlights, the bad would be a longer list. I know there was lots of changes had to take place and people who couldn't wrestle with so many bad ideas felt like watching WCW at its worse.

NOT THE GREATEST SURVIVOR SERIES BUT DECENT ENOUGH
Big Movie Fan1 May 2002
In my opinion the last truly great Survivor Series was the 1991 event. The Survivor Series events from 1987-1991 were brilliant events with really great matches and phenomenal crowds. Survivor Series events from 1992 onwards have been quite average.

This was a pretty decent card. The 4 Doinks VS Bam Bam Bigelow's Team was quite an entertaining match if you like comedy and wrestling together. And the opening match pitting Razor Ramon's Team VS The Model's Team was a reasonable match.

Bret Hart and his brothers VS Shawn Michaels and the 3 Knights was an okay match. Jerry Lawler should have captained the 3 Knights but for complicated reasons he didn't wrestle that night and Shawn Michaels took his place. This match was remarkable in parts.

The main event was The All-Americans VS The Foreign Fanatics. It was as good as one would expect.

I'd say Survivor Series '93 was worth at least one look.
