Easy and Cheap Way to Recreate Famous Movie Scenes

29 September 2012 2:33 PM, PDT | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Ghostbusters (1984)

Here's an awesome series of photos that recreate famous movie scenes using screen grabs, a cheap printer, a keen eye for movie locations and some fairly steady hands. They were taken by Christopher Moloney, a writer for the show OutFront on CNN. These are just part of the over 200 locations he's shot so far, most of which were taken on his walk to work from his home on East 75th Street and First Avenue to Columbus Circle

It all started out with the photo above, which features a scene from Ghostbusters with Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. He started out taking these photos with his BlackBerry and sharing them only with family and friends. He has since upgraded his camera and gained worldwide attention from your average teenager to movie aficionados.

As his FILMography tumblr has become more popular across the globe, he's had the opportunity to go international with his photos as well. »

Safe Review: Propulsive If Unoriginal Action Film

4 May 2012 11:52 PM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Depressing though it might be to action fans, there is only one truly bankable tough guy left who can prop up his own picture, and that man is Jason Statham. Thankfully, teaming with eclectic director Boaz Yakin – whose CV ranges from inspirational sports film (Remember the Titans) to cutesy comedy (Uptown Girls) – proved a wise choice, for Safe is one of The Stath’s more solidly entertaining vehicles for quite some time.

Shake the fact that the plot is shamelessly similar to Bruce Willis’ mediocre action thriller Mercury Rising, and there is plenty to enjoy here. Statham plays Luke Wright, a suicidal former NYPD cop who saves a 12-year old Chinese math whizz, Mei (Catherine Chan), whose gift for remembering numbers is being exploited to help the Triads’ bank roll. After rescuing her, Wright then has to fend off not only the Triads, but the Russian »

Brittany Murphy's Cause Of Death Still In Question

12 January 2012 7:58 AM, PST | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Two years after actress Brittany Murphy's shocking death at the age of 32, her parents continue to battle with authorities over just what happened. In the latest development, Murphy's father, Angelo Bertolotti, has filed suit against the Los Angeles County Coroner's office, according to Radar Online, in an effort to gain access to hair samples in the department's possession.

Bertolotti disputes the coroner's ruling that Murphy died from pneumonia and anemia, and believes that testing the samples will prove him right.

The "Uptown Girls" actress's husband, Simon Monjack, discovered her body inside their Hollywood Hills home on Dec. 20, 2009. Just five months later, Monjack died -- also as a result of pneumonia and anemia, according to the coroner.

Last month, Murphy's mother, Sharon Murphy, sued her former lawyers for legal malpractice, according to the UK's Daily Mail. Sharon was reportedly interested in naming the builders of the home in which Murphy »
