This 52-minute documentary has Vincent Price hosting and narrating as he discusses the history of Dracula. We start off learning about the real man that Dracula is based on and then we move to Bram Stoker's novel. From here we take a look at the 1922 film NOSFERATU as well as several other movies including MARK OF THE VAMPIRE, THE RETURN OF THE VAMPIRE and the 1957 film THE VAMPIRE.
If you're a fan of Price then you'll certainly want to watch this documentary as that terrific voice of his is certainly a pleasure to listen to as he talks about the subject at hand. For the most part this is a very good look at everything Dracula and it would be a very good way to introduce people to the character if they're not already familiar with him. If you are familiar with the fact and fiction of the character then there's really not too much new things that you're going to learn here.
There are several film clips shown but for some reason none of the Universal titles are discussed. It's also worth noting that there are a few errors including the wrong year given on MARK OF THE VAMPIRE and that film is also called a sequel. Still, there's plenty of entertainment to be had here.
