Family melodrama

Asha jyoti features Kaka with 2 heroines - Rekha & Reena roy. It was directed by Dasari Narayana Rao. The story is about a man with 2 wives & the issues they confront. Both Reena Roy & Rekha have got scope to perform & they are both good in their roles.

Rajesh khanna's role as hero is limited since it is a heroine oriented film, yet he makes a mark. It is to kaka's credit that he has done many heroine oriented films & yet scored beautifully in his performance.

The film was delayed since Reena Roy was then in love with Pakistan cricketer Mohsin Khan & so skipped the shoot.

The film is for full family viewing with nice music by LP & lovely locations.

The end is tragic which is unexpected.

The film did good business at the box office.
