I don't understand the purpose of this version, really! "Sans famille" from 1981 is TV gold , the acting is outstanding and it covers everything from the book...so why make another TV film who happens to be inferior to the first? A lot of things are missing in that version and a lot of Remie adventures had been cut. The acting is over the top and everybody seems...well two dimensional.Especially Remie uncle , his acting was so cheesy, he was acting like a bad guy from a cartoon.Jules sitruk played Remie like a cute puppy dog who had no spine,he was cute...that's all , nothing under the surface unlike Remie from 81 who was a real fleshed out character. The worse part of that version in my opinion is the ending. The ending from the original 81 film was so great because it was not the expected ending but in this version you already know half trough how the all thing is gonna end. I cant really recommend this over the much better version from 81. I give this a 5.5 out of 10.
