Storyline

Stumbling across an uncompleted 1939 film called "Princess Marushka", filmmaker Sam becomes intrigued with the young actor Sylvain Marceau, who last appeared in the film. Hoping to discover the mystery behind Sylvain's disappearance, Sam decides to make a documentary and sets off to interview those who knew Sylvain, including elderly Lisa Morain. Through her interview, Sam learns the story of Lisa and Sylvain's doomed love affair on the eve of World War II. Written by Polly_Kat

This was one of those movies you just start watching late at night on SBS and can't turn off. this was one of the most moving movies i have ever seen. My favoutrite scene was when the old Lisa played for Sam in the present time but then her younger self was there watching as well. i cried and i laughed, i was just so moved by the young Lisa. She was amazing in her role like a modern "Juliet".

I've never seen a movie set during the WWII that showed so little fighting and was still so moving.

Many Australians don't give foreign films much of a chance but this is definitely one to give a go.
