Ephemeral porn movie made simply to help fill out the schedule at an 8th Ave. NYC theater, THE LINE IS BUSY is yet another vaudeville sketch padded to nearly an hour's running time. Man, was I bored!
Soft porn staple Gerard Broulard stars (with fake cast credits, per Cosmos Films usual practice) as a guy calling those phone numbers written on bathroom stall walls: "for a good time..." He humps a series of girls for pay (though the first one lets him have $20 worth "on the house") and just as he laughs at the bargain 10 cents has bought him, poor makeup effects on his dick and the doctor' s diagnosis constitute what passes for a surprise ending in this genre.
It's all an excuse to display the split-beaver shots popular in 1969 (novelty of such visual explicitness was still there), with poorly executed sex simulation. It's very dull, with "I can dig it" type of dialog. Only value is seeing Kathy Hilton in the first segment -she deserved better roles.
