As soon as the Flemish and Dutch candidates arrive in Malaysia, they are engaged in a complicated race to earn immunity coins and decide which team, by assembling a puzzle fastest, is allowed to start on a dream beach, whereas the losers are stuck in a mangrove hell. The poker twin brothers luckily find themselves in the wining team, where stunt man Olivier Bisback takes charge of building a camp. Gene is with red team, which also has to vote one member out immediately after settling in. The vote is a tie between the weakest girls, apparently by nationality, but an immunity coin spares the worst sissy. A new rule however allows losers to stay in the mangrove as long as they don't loose duel against the next eliminated person, regardless whether his/her team is allowed to the beach, until the camps merge.
17 September 2012
Both camps concentrate on foraging, which is almost hopeless in the mangrove. Olivier, who has a ball playing Tarzan, does a great job as natural leader, but arouses petty jealousy and the others weaken visibly. The beach camp also struggles with fishing and fruit-collecting, but arrives at the next test in clearly superior condition. Yet rather then strength it's their smooth collaboration that easily triumphs in assembling a giant puzzle, now on land. The mangrove dwellers must return and plot, again essentially Flemish versus Dutch candidates, the second elimination. The vote once again just spares the weakest girl, the fat Dutch rapper is to oppose the previous vote-loser in a duel, next episode.
24 September 2012
In a very close buckets obstacle race, rapper Willie loses to Faja, who thus remains in the mangroves, but plays a dirty trick by lying to the others about fictitious endured horrors. Both camps concentrate on foraging, until the next test. The beach camp toils as never before in an exhausting stilts against current race but prevails again. The mangrove dwellers must return and plot, the two remaining Dutch unfairly blame Olivier for the loss and still have enough immunity coins to secure a tie between him and Tess, who wins a weird riddle race.
1 October 2012
Thanks to her experience with the game, Faja wins the survival duel from Olivier, meaning she remains in the mangroves, but the red team looses its strongest player by far. Even the Dutch plotters who got him eliminated, mostly to Gene's horror, start regretting that tactical move when the yellow team wins the next game, building and crosses a rope bridge. It's revealed that both camps are on the same large island when Aagje, who wants to give up, is sent from yellow to red carrying a map, which also shows banana trees, which her team sets out for, and a treasure, which the red team gets, actually canned beans, but as ecstatically welcomed.
8 October 2012
To everyone's surprise, the teams are completely reshuffled, by picking someone of the opposite gender in turn. Gene's red camp gain Ruud, but loses Paul to the yellow team, which wins, albeit more narrowly then ever, the next test, the dreaded horror dish eating. So red again returns to the mangroves and wins the race for the second food treasure. The they must face another elimination vote, which narrowly goes to weakling Zoe, although resourceful Ruud rather unfairly got as many votes in this round.
15 October 2012
Zoe messes up the post-elimination-duel worse then anyone before, survivor Faya is delighted to find her mangrove companions largely reshuffled. In a physically very hard aquatic obstacle course followed by a stressy puzzle, Gene's red camp narrowly wins its first victory, so they may leave the mangroves and enjoy the beach camp. Yellow now must face their first elimination vote, which on purely tactical grounds selects Ruud, perhaps their strongest contender and holder of five coins, which he didn't even field, falsely feeling safe as Tess deserved to be voted out.
22 October 2012
Lodewijk is more stunned then embittered by his tactical elimination, and looses survivor Faya's one but last duel, as the merger is announced as impending. Visiting the now yellow mangrove camp, Gene and Ruud are pleasantly surprised to see their adversaries crippled themselves. Yellow now looses the next test, a rope-guided bamboo maze tower followed by archery, and face their second and last elimination vote, which the poker brothers and cahoots find quite convenient to dump Tess before the merger.
29 October 2012
After Tess looses the last duel, Faya is allowed to return for the camps merger, which is celebrated with a lavish barbecue. First everyone had to vote who they wanted to partake in the first immunity contest. Since Matthias failed to vote for Christophe, he's among those left-out who are to do the dreaded sleep-test at pain of two black votes, which fate falls on Paul.
5 October 2012
The camps are finally merged, but only to be regularly split another way after each immunity test. The first such joint contest, endurance bamboo-pole-hanging, is won by Ruud. He's allowed to pick three friends for a luxury stay on 'winner island', topped with a clue for the whereabouts of a golden immunity coins which wipes a whole vote and can be passed on afterwards, but is hidden on the other island. Since Faya, who was picked unlike the poker twins, double-crosses them and misleads gene to waste his coins, Matthias ends up tied with Min Hee and looses the decisive riddle duel.
12 November 2012
Christophe is rather bitter, having lost his brother Matthias due to Faya's dirty game, but others also start mistrusting her. The next test, a memory game, proves somewhat irrelevant as Paul announces he's had a gut full of all the scheming and returns home, so nobody else is eliminated. However, the winner's pick of three for the luxury island is an occasion for scheming and another clue for the golden coin is given.
19 November 2012
Christophe is rather amused to find Faya's and other scheming offer his group new perspectives, while Ruud is the unsuspecting main target. The next test, a diving and throwing game, allows Faya to win immunity, so the other plot has to turn solely on Gene. However, after clues exchanges, Gene finds the golden coin but doesn't field it and survives the elimination vote, so startled Ruud will be dearly missed.
26 November 2012
After Ruud's elimination, Christophe decides to pretend his trio will help Gene's eliminate Faya, who actually goes to great lengths to help eliminate one of the thus unsuspecting trio, which enjoys keeping secret gene already found the golden immunity coin. The next test, another diving and throwing game, allows Fatima to win immunity. Gene suspects nothing and fails to field his coin, so Christophe's plan works in the elimination vote: exit Min-Hee.
2 December 2012
After Min-Hee's elimination, Christophe's extended trio expects an easy victory over Gene and his last ally Joke, ignoring they already found the golden immunity coin. The next test, a pulling and puzzling game with fruit as tantalizing diversion, is won by a lukewarm Christopher-follower. Gene field his coin, but for himself, while Christophe's gang votes out Joke.
10 December 2012
After Joke's elimination, the mood is getting grim, as the finalists are to be determined. Christophe is hell-bent on revenge on Faya for his brother. The next test, the dreaded beam balancing marathon, which yields two of the three finalist spots, is alas, after an incident, lost by both boys, Faya and Fatima get a stay in a luxury island resort. The island council vote eliminates Gene, while Christophe will have to await the next test.
