Trivia

Timmy Price's house is actually co-writer Tom Coyne's parents' house, where Coyne was living during filming. See more »

Goofs

When Timmy is playing golf with his father and his father is squatting to take a look at his putting line, he say's "Same model putter that Ben Hogan used when he won the Grand Slam". This is historically incorrect because Bobby Jones is the only player to ever win the "Grand Slam". (4 major wins in one season) This happened in 1930 and Bobby Jones retired thereafter. Ben Hogan was one of the best players ever, he came close in 1953 winning 3 out of the 4 majors. He won the Masters, U.S. Open, and The British Open, this is known as the "Hogan Slam" but not the "Grand Slam". See more »

Quotes

Timmy Price: Well, maybe I could hit a few balls up here and you could give me some pointers.
Foster Pearse: Do I *look* like Mr. Miyagi to you? Wax on, wax off. Oh yes, Timmy-san, you hit a few balls, I give you pointers.

Simple in content, yet worth every frame

I golf, poorly and infrequently, but I tell people I golf. Gentleman's Game is not about golf. It is about family relationships and coming of age. The cast is exceptional and the plot simple, but with plenty of heart. My hope is that this movie will be seen by everyone, not just people who enjoy golf. I think that the positive word of mouth will make this a video store jewel.
