Genie movie - Tamil Style

One of the few gems in Tamil film industry. Perfect family movie & must watch summer entertainment for home. Pros-Comedy track by Nagesh and Genie, Genie's special stunts using magic. Cons-too many songs, romantic scenes. The protagonists has done a decent job across the board. For a movie which came out in 1967, this one has got amazing CGI/special effects. I love this film as for me,this is a science-fiction in Tamil language, which was way beyond its time. Some of the magic stunts which the Genie makes, is conceptual versions of today's things. The story-line emphasises on friendship and bonding, which are universal emotions.

Jaishankar has definitely done better films, and this one gets pretty boring after a while. Same old story of Aladdin and the magic lamp. Nagesh does his best but even he cannot engage the viewer for too long. One memorable song in "Andha Sivakami Maganidam".
