When you saw The Queen Extravaganza rock the American Idol stage a few weeks back everyone was begging for more. Now that begging can become reality as the official tribute band of Queen is officially on tour! Its so good that you can't miss it! I'll admit it that I have always wanted to see Queen but was never able to see the band when it was led by the iconic Freddy Mercury, but now thanks to The Queen Extravaganza I am getting a taste of what I have been missing! In a two-set show that runs just over two hours, the band performs nearly 40 Queen classics drawn from a list of the band’s biggest all-time chart hits: “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Another One Bites The Dust,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “Under Pressure,” “We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions,” “A Kind Of Magic,” “Radio Ga Ga,” “Somebody To Love” and “Killer Queen. »

After taking some time to start a family (which involved giving birth to three boys), 24’s Sarah Wynter is coming back to acting full time, with her first big role in Season 6 of Showtime’s Californication. Normally, in these casting situations, I would be chomping at the bit to talk about whom Wynter is playing, but in this instance there isn’t much to really say. Currently there’s more information surrounding who Wynter’s character is married to, so don’t act all shocked when I barely talk about her. You’ve been fairly warned, so what do you say we dive into this thing?
related: Californication Season 6 Gets Grumpy Gay Boss
According to Deadline, Wynter will be a major recurring character in Season 6, set to appearing in at least six episodes as the wife of rock star Atticus Fetch (Tim Minchin). That’s literally as far as we »

Though Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez will surely super-sing and hyper-emote their way through tonight's Top 2 performance show, American Idol's eleventh season has already left a trail of thoroughly professional, if not legendary performances. Fortunately, we''ve counted up the 11 that really, really ruled, and I'll tell you a secret: The top two performances on this list may be the two best in the history of the series -- aside from my darling Melinda Doolittle's "My Funny Valentine," of course. They're an astonishing pair of clips, and I hope reality competition scientists study them with microscopes and applause for decades.
Let's count down the 11 best, kids! Hurl your dissent in the comments, please.
11. DeAndre Brackensick, "Master Blaster"
The revisionism begins here, because I originally rated DeAndre's Stevie Wonder cover as a middle-of-the-pack entry that week. What was I thinking? This 1980 Stevie jam is such a weird, boppy, hokey, reggae, »

Exclusive: Sarah Wynter (24) has been tapped for a recurring role on the next season of Showtime’s dark comedy series Californication. The Australian actress will play the wife of rock star Atticus Fetch, played by another Aussie, Tim Minchin. Described as Bowie, Bono and Lennon rolled up into one, Fetch has been drafted to write the music for the Broadway musical A Crazy Little Thing Called Love, which is based on the hit romantic comedy of the same name adapted from Hank Moody’s (David Duchovny) breakthrough novel. Wynter, repped by Paradigm and Mosaic, is set to appear in at least six episodes. After scaling back work over the past four years to give birth to three boys, she is returning to acting full-time. »

For performances Wednesday night, the #Idols took on a Queen song and another song of their choice. So that meant a total of 12 fabulous fashion looks! Here is the low-down on what the Top 6 men and ladies wore.
And, don't forget to send your style questions or comments to me on Twitter at @SoysFashion. I'd #love to hear from you!
You can achieve so many moods with a suit, and with Hollie's look this week I wanted her to look clean, chic, and cool with just a simple black tank underneath. Her red suit and statement necklace tied the outfit together perfectly. I started off Hollie's fittings with simple gowns for "The Climb" and nothing seemed right. Since the beginning of the season I've had a black modern poodle skirt for Hollie. She pointed to it as a reminder and said, "What about that one?" I wasn't quite »

The American idol elimination show tonight (4-26-12) is live, who was voted off and will be going home on tonight's show? Many predictions today have been all over the map, no one can agree on who's likely to be eliminated tonight on American Idol. On last nights show (4-25-12) we got a double dose of Idol when the contestants performed two songs. One song was from the Queen songbook and included a medley with original Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor. The other song was the contestant's choice. Here is the song list from last night's singing competition: Jessica Sanchez – Bohemian Rhapsody & Dance With My Father by Luther Vandross Skylar Laine – The Show Must Go On & Tattoos On This Town by Jason Aldean Joshua Ledet – Crazy Little Thing Called Love & Ready For Love by India.Arie Elise Testone – I Want It All & Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix »

Dubious claims dropped faster and more frequently during American Idol‘s Top 6 performance show than J.Lo’s legendary backside in her latest music video. Phillip Phillips kidded that the U.S. government is running tests to make Jessica Sanchez’s voice even more poweful. Skylar is a “thick-boned” girl, noted Hollie (who’s been in this country — and in front of the Idol judges — long enough that she really ought to know the term “thick-skinned.”) And Randy Jackson claimed to have invented the word “ginormous“ right there at the judges’ table. Tonight! Our top six rock the songs of Queen! Or: Your recapper grimly counts down to “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.” And then the kids will sing other songs they feel like singing, just to stretch it to two hours because the producers of American Idol actively hate you. Now, Nikki Finke tells us that Ryan Seacrest was violently ill before tonight’s show started — one does not absorb the soul of Dick Clark without some unpleasant side effects — and that they were scrambling to find a fill-in. I’m going to put this out there: I have live television experience, I am a ten-minute drive from the studio, and I have been blessed with a naturally even skin tone that does not require makeup. Let’s do this, Nigel Lythgoe.Alas, we will not be doing this tonight, as Ryan has made a miraculous recovery (and is oddly huggsy »

I don't need to hear most Queen songs ever again. It's like Journey. Boring straight people feel cool for liking Queen and Journey, and we have to tolerate their late-onset realization of Freddie Mercury's immortality or Steve Perry's splendor like humorless chaperones. I just choose to ignore both catalogs now. Ugh. But rules are rules: If I had to perform this week on Idol, I'd choose "Under Pressure" for my Queen song (and totally key up the "Pushing down on me!" melodrama) and Jody Watley's "Looking For A New Love" for the Whatever song. I just want an excuse to wear a killer hoop earrings and coo "Hasta la vista, baby" to prudes like Skylar Laine. You understand.
Onto the rankings! The kids took on both a Queen song and a random song, and a few of them were startlingly good. That includes one mini-balladeer with chutzpah galore. »

Here's a scary fact: Four out of the Top 6 "American Idol" contestants weren't even born when Freddie Mercury died in 1991, so expecting them to nail Queen classics might've been something of a stretch, especially since out of the remaining hopefuls, only Elise Testone truly qualifies as a rock singer.
Still, the "Idol" producers were apparently feeling sadistic tonight, so we got an hour of poor Queen imitations and an hour of contestants' choice -- which had the potential to be satisfying, since the wannabe Idols tend to excel when they're actually allowed to tackle culturally relevant tracks. We also had a sick Ryan Seacrest, who spent much of the hour looking like he was on the verge of throwing up or passing out (flashbacks to Hollywood Week, much?).
Read on to see who emerged as a champion and who bit the dust as we recap the Top 6's performances.

It's the songs of Queen on "American Idol" for the Top 6 and we are a bit skeptical about how that's going to go. Better or worse than Billy Joel week? Hmm. (Later, after we'd watched the whole show, we were impressed by how good this week was.)
Why is Jennifer Lopez dressed like Mc Hammer's genie? And boy, does Searcrest have some big hair tonight. Oh! We had not spotted Randy's "Yo" pin yet. Goodness. Steven Tyler is the most normally dressed judge, which is weird.
And then we kick things off with the Top 6 singing a medley alongside Brian May and Roger Taylor. Huh. Elise and Skylar sound great on their "Another One Bites the Dust" solo lines. We aren't sure anybody else really pulls this off.
1. Jessica Sanchez, "Bohemian Rhapsody"
The opening is certainly gorgeous for her voice. The creepy backup heads are not Ok, though. Holy crap. »

American Idol was so stellar this evening, I can’t even find something sarcastic to say about the fact that the proceedings kicked off with the Season 11 Top 6 passing the mic for a medley of Queen’s greatest hits. (Come on, we can all admit that group performances and medleys are two of Satan’s most effective instruments of evil.)

Generations merged tonight as the “American Idol” hopefuls got a pep talk from Queen originals, and then opened the show performing a Queen medley with Roger Taylor and Brian May. It may have been one of the cooler things seen on the Idol stage. Then each singer sang a Queen song for their first performance of the night, with Stevie Van Zandt in the audience watching the show.
“Bohemian Rhapsody” was a deviation for Jessica, who was the first to sing. »

It was only a matter of time before Californication got back to old dynamics. Hank is back on the sh*t list with Karen and daughter Becca.
In Episode 5.5, “The Ride-Along”, Becca and Karen learned that Hank may have been involved in the attack on Tyler. Now, it’s time to see how far Hank will fall down the rabbit hole of problems. As Hank continues to work with Samurai Apocalypse on “Santa Monica Cop”, he puts himself in greater danger of having his love affair with Kali, the girl who has stolen Sam’s heart, discovered. When that happens, expect gunshots to follow.
Although Hank is the center of attention, I’m more interested in what will become of Charlie’s warped love life. Does anyone think Charlie can find the same kind of happiness that ex-wife Marcy has discovered?
Californication airs Sunday nights at 10:30 Pm Et/Pt on Showtime, »
