Act Your Age (1949)

** 1/2 (out of 4)

Hilarious educational film about a teenager who gets made when his pencil breaks so he decides to vandalize his desk. He's sent to the principle's office with a note and the kid must try and determine how hold he really acts. The entire gimmick of this 12-minute movie is to see how a teenager acts and how he is supposed to act. The trick here is that we'll see the teenager acting out and then we'll see the very same scene but this time with a 5-year-old kid acting out. This here leads to some incredibly funny stuff and just wait until you see the baseball scene where a grown man is on the ground kicking, screaming and pulling his hair. It's scenes like this one that makes this educational pictures worth viewing and I must say that this here is one of the funniest. Other campy moments include the silly principle who is giving some of the dumbest advice you're ever going to hear and the "plan" that the teen comes up with is just about as silly as anything Ed Wood ever wrote. As you'd expect the performances are all pretty bad but this here just adds to the fun.
