'Columbia' Winning the Cup (1898)

Edison short shows us the winning moment from the Internation Yacht Race as the Columbia crosses the line followed by a couple other yachts. I've reviewed at least a hundred of these early films and I also mention that people shouldn't look at these and expect the same type of entertainment that we get from movies today or even the type that we'd get from earlier pioneers like Porter or Griffith. However, this short here was pretty useless. Yes, we get to see the history of the yacht winning but that's all there is. Ninety-three seconds worth of a yacht crossing a line. The print is in pretty rough shape but I guess it should be mentioned that this film was "remade" by Edison in 1901. For completest only.
