Watch: New Trailer For Brad Pitt's Wii Drama 'Fury' With Shia Labeouf, Logan Lerman & More

19 August 2014 8:32 AM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

“It sort of exploded out,” filmmaker David Ayer said about his latest film. “I wrote it for me.” Ayer’s kept largely inside the domain of police films thus far ("S.W.A.T.," "Street Kings," "End Of Watch"), but for his next trick, he’s taking on a WWII drama starring Brad Pitt. And if you think "so what? Pitt’s already done a WWII movie with Quentin Tarantino" (“Inglourious Basterds”), note that Ayer’s “Fury” sounds vastly different. What’s the film like? In a long feature in the New York Times recently, the movie was described as a “relentlessly authentic portrayal of the extremes endured, and inflicted, by Allied troops who entered Germany in the spring of 1945.” Intriguingly, the Times also say the movie “promises to be one of the most daring studio movies in an awards season.” Here’s the official synopsis: April 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theater, »

Here are some of the hottest action heroines who could totally rule in the upcoming 'Predator' remake!

News broke today on The Hollywood Reporter that another beloved 80s classic is on the slate for a trendy millennial reboot. This time, it's the iconic action horror Predator, and it's reportedly set to be helmed by Kiss Kiss Bang Bang director/writer Shane Black, who also recently created Iron Man 3!

The original Predator starred an ensemble of classic macho '80s musclemen, led by Arnold Schwarzenegger and co-starring Rocky's Carl Weathers and the pro-wrestler-turned-Minnesota-Governor Jesse Ventura.

But does the sequel still need to adhere to the action-movie tradition of having an all-male cast with a token sexy girl they need to rescue? For a long time, studios saw this as the only way to attract legions of teenage bros to »

Cliffhanger Remake in the Works

29 May 2014 3:21 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Studio Canal and producer Neal Moritz (Fast & Furious franchise) are moving forward with a Cliffhanger remake, mining the 1993 Sylvester Stallone action-adventure film for a modern day update.  Directed by Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2), the original pic starred Stallone as a traumatized mountain climber/rescue ranger who is summoned by thieves to help recover three briefcases carrying $100 million in total that were strewn across the Rocky Mountains.  Deadline reports that Joe Gazzam has been hired to write the script for the remake after impressing Moritz with his take on the redo, which could end up at Sony given the producer's relationship with the studio. This is a bit of a baffling property to choose for a remake, but I guess if an extreme sports-centered Point Break redo can exist, a Cliffhanger do-over is par for the course.  Hit the jump for more on the film. Moritz has plenty of experience steering action-oriented spectacle films, »

The HeyUGuys Interview: Arnold Schwarzenegger talks Sabotage

9 May 2014 6:58 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Arnie’s back! Again. This time he’s playing a DEA agent whose tortured soul takes him to dark places a la Breaking Bad. We spoke with the action legend about training with La S.W.A.T. for his new “moofie”, working with an ensemble cast, guns, more guns and the perils of action hero stunt tomfoolery.

Much the same way as an Oscar winning thesp can elevate any film, the muscled one brings much needed steely-eyed star power to David Ayer’s unerringly violent, and at times by the numbers, cop thriller.

Enjoy Sabotage for what it is: an unapologetic, hair-triggered action-fest with a very dark side. It’s sure to whet your whistle for his return to the franchise that made his name when Schwarzenegger gets robotically righteous in next year’s Terminator: Genesis. We shook the man’s hand. It still hurts.

Sabotage Press Conference: Arnold Schwarzenegger talks roles, contracts, Terminator and Triplets

6 May 2014 6:00 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

There are few actors who command the attention of everybody in a room quite like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Such was the case at the press conference for his latest thriller, Sabotage – an event that we were fortunate enough to be in attendance.

Joined by television personality Keith Lemon, who was moderating the event, Arnie discusses working alongside David Ayer (End of Watch) and of his own evolution as an actor, as he dwells upon life post-government. He also offers his thoughts on the importance of contracts in the film business, and of upcoming projects he’s involved in, such as the new Terminator, Conan the Barbarian, and also the eagerly anticipated sequel to Twins, Triplets.

End of Watch was a brilliant movie – how do you rate David Ayer as a director of action movies?

I think he’s a very talented man, when you see Training Day you can see he’s a fantastic writer, »

Arnold Schwarzenegger's Sabotage Gets A Hardcore New Red Band Trailer

7 February 2014 12:47 PM, PST | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Filmmaker David Ayer definitely has a thing for telling stories about law enforcement. While his career began writing the 2000 submarine drama U-571, his career since has exclusively filled with cop movies like Training Day, The Fast and the Furious, Dark Blue, S.W.A.T., Harsh Times and End of Watch. He'll finally be breaking this pattern later this year with the release of Fury, his passion project about a tank crew serving in World War II, but before that he'll be departing the genre with a bang, dropping the new film Sabotage - which has just released a brand new extended red band trailer over on IGN. Co-written by Ayer and X-Men Origins: Wolverine/A Good Day To Die Hard screenwriter Skip Woods (uh oh), the new movie follows the members of an elite DEA task force who not only have an exceptional work record together, but have bonded »
