I've got really surprised with almost every comment in here, also with movie's IMDb rating (3.6). This movie ain't that bad. Bear in mind "The Darkling" was made for TV (USA Network production) so you won't see CGI or big budget SFX, but what you see is well done. Despite the plot that could seems a little bit odd at times, "The Darkling" has (in my honest opinion) pretty good acting, specially *F. Murray Abraham* ("Amadeus", "Scarface", "Thir13en Ghosts") that gives us a very nice performance of his character: a multi-millionaire collector; also the main character, the Irish *Aidan Gillen* ("Queer As Folk") fulfills his role in a satisfactory way. Keep an eye on this girl, kind of unknown, called *Lisa Lande*, showing us her beauty and elegance... I've never seen her in any other movie (I guess I saw her in a few series doing very small roles) but she really looks stunning although her acting isn't good enough. Anyway, her presence is important, and is an incredibly beautiful actress. Everything counts.
And for "The Darkling" itself, a weird and creepy baby demon (check out its voice, sounding deep and frightening) does a very good job creating all the suspense and supernatural atmosphere. An excellent choice for a demon, with lots of cool speeches.
So for me, it's not that bad. The plot caught me, there's plenty of dark and weird scenes, very good acting, cool looking girls (and guys too), a little bit of fun, it's entertaining and really dynamic movie. Oh! Don't forget the music, there's some amazing alternative rock and *Moby* styled tracks sang by *Dave Keough* (Music by: *Frankie Blue*)
My last words goes for the DVD releases, as far as I know it wasn't released in USA yet, but there's some South American releases (Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil) and European (Germany, Sweden, Poland, Austria, Switzerland). Here in Argentina we've got DVD5, fullscreen, English audio, Spanish subs and few extras. Argentinian title: "Criatura Diabólica" (Diabolic Creature)
PS: I'm the visitor, come on and take me... Take me inside!
6.5/10 - Good.
