First show to switch networks mid-season.
Jake Burbage (Henry) moved back east with his family in 2004. Instead of writing him out or recasting the role, and since Claudia became pregnant, the producers decided to continue the season with one fewer kid. However, Claudia and Sean often say that they have three kids, even while Henry is nowhere to be found.
FOX canceled the show after three episodes of the third season. The WB picked up the show and aired the rest of the season.
Most of the episodes are named after Rock n Roll song titles.
Most of the show's episodes are told in flashback.
In real-life Megyn Price is only 12 years older than her show-daughter Lynsey Bartilson.

Stephen Root was originally announced in the role of Walt, but was later replaced by Richard Riehle. However, Root returned as a periodic guest star in the role of Claudia's father.

The electric car that Eddie drives in "Pay You Back with Interest" is a CVI CommutaCar. The CommutaCar was the most successful electric car ever put in prodcution.

The show was originally pitched with the title "Don't Get Me Started". However, when no one was happy with that name, network and production company executives began to pitch new titles. Suggestions included "The Young Parent Show" and "Egg, Sperm - Now This" before settling on "Grounded For Life".
