We are given a view of the life of several individuals in the dutch town Almelo, as we follow the first African to ever sign for local premier division football team Heracles.

Great little piece of Dutch cinema with a good balance of drama and happiness. It captures the Holland of our grandfathers very entertainingly in a stylized, yet accurate way. The characters may not all be terribly original or unpredictable, but as a matter of fact this hardly makes them any less interesting to watch. You won't see any realistic representations of situations on the football pitch, but who would be surprised about this when it's essentially a feel-good movie? Another entertaining fact is that many of the smaller parts or even simple extras are played by rather famous dutch actors, while the main parts are occupied by slightly more unknown ones (who still do a fully acceptable job at that). Anyway, it won't win any prizes but it's easy to watch and worth your while, even if it is only to get a catch of some dutch scenery.
