A two-reel war story, pictured with much clearness and filled with intense, dramatic scenes. Impersonations of General Lee and General Grant are given. The battle scenes are very effectively done; the burning of the warehouse is a strong feature. The love story blends nicely with the various incidents and as a whole the production is a very desirable one. - The Moving Picture World, April 5, 1913
