Workers Leaving a Factory - American Style
20 June 2009 | by (www.2020-movie-reviews.com) – See all my reviews

Although this short film was shot in Detroit on 5th July 1899, for some reason it wasn't copyrighted by the American & Biograph Mutoscope company until May 1903. The film is reminiscent of the Lumiere's film showing workers leaving a factory because, well, that's exactly what this film does.

The workers were from Parke Davis, a drugs firm. The factory is on the screen's left and the employees either walk or cycle past the camera and a policeman, kicking up a trail of dust in their wake. There's not really much else to be said about it other than, although it isn't the greatest or most interesting film you'll ever see, it surely doesn't deserve such a paltry rating on IMDb.
