For the first nine years of its existence, WrestleMania was ruled by one man.
Hulk Hogan was involved in each of the first nine ‘Mania main events, and he came out on top all but once. Heck, even when he wasn’t in the official match that had been signed as the main event, he still came out the winner. From the very first WrestleMania until WrestleMania IX in 1993, Hulkamania did indeed run wild.
This is to be expected, as Hulk was by far the biggest star in the company in the late 80s and early 90s. If you think John Cena has been protected over the last few years, just take one look at Hogan’s streak during this time. He lost clean to the Ultimate Warrior (kicking out at 3.1 in the process) at WrestleMania VI, and off the top of my head this is the only truly...

One of my favorite things about WrestleMania season is watching as the branding and marketing for the event begins to unfold. Each WrestleMania has its own unique look and feel and WWE is careful to cultivate this in everything from the TV spots and commercials to the set up of the stadium itself.
Who can ever forget the Roman Empire imagery of WrestleMania IX at Caesar’s Palace, or the skylines and New York icons represented by WrestleMania 29? Last year in San Jose, WrestleMania took on an ‘interactive’/technology theme, whereas this year in Dallas, TX, WWE has gone the obvious route and given Mania a Texas flavor.
When we look back through history at the previous thirty two WrestleManias, perhaps nothing serves as a better time capsule than the even poster for each respective event. From the over the top imagery of the ’80s, to the...

WrestleMania X-Seven is often cited as the greatest ‘Mania in history. Crowned by two truly awesome bouts – the Rock versus Austin main event, and the unbelievable TLC tag titles match – the PPV is rightfully regarded as a fantastic example of its time, and perhaps could be seen as the crescendo of the Attitude Era.
However, for all its greatness, WrestleMania X-Seven isn’t without its odd little moments. The pay-per-view is absolutely jam-packed full of bizarre, wacky, shocking, and disturbing incidents, all stretched over its almost four-hour run time.
Here are 50 Wtf Moments from an all-time classic, proving that even the greatest shows in wrestling history have their weird side.

Since its inception in 1984, WrestleMania has become one of the biggest events in all of entertainment. At the time, Vince McMahon’s grand showcase seemed extravagant and risky, but in comparison to modern ‘Manias it looks modest. Every year, WrestleMania gets bigger and better, and this year’s WrestleMania XXX went all out to be the biggest wrestling show ever.
Fans look forward to “WrestleMania Season” every year. The period between the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania is when WWE truly fires on all cylinders, and year-long plans coalesce to form WWE’s biggest night. Unfortunately, WWE has had a string of bad luck recently, and it’s looking more and more likely that WrestleMania 31 is going to be a huge disappointment for both WWE and the fans.
WrestleMania 31 is still a good few months away, and an upswing of good fortune could still come WWE’s way, but...

Batman and Robin, Laurel and Hardy, Jerry Seinfeld and George Costanza. Some people just go together. Or, in the wrestling world: Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth, The Four Horsemen and The Outsiders. These are among of the most classic pairings in history. When you think of someone like Randy Savage, you can’t help but think of his lovely valet. When you think of Arn Anderson, you’ll naturally think of Flair.
But when you think of The Undertaker do you automatically think of his ex-wife Sara? When you talk about Scott Steiner does Stacy Keibler naturally follow next in the conversation? Some people have no business being together in wrestling. This is usually due to the fact that they have no chemistry. It’s two people that are forced to team up, but only end up being detrimental to each other’s careers.
Here, we take a look at 10 pairings of wrestlers,...

With the announcement that Daniel Bryan will now face Triple H at WrestleMania with a title shot on the line, it’s looking increasingly apparent that he might wrestle twice on that night. Over the years, sporadic incidences of double duty on the part of certain superstars have made for some of the most compelling moments.
Whether it be a gauntlet for simply needing to combat two foes in one night, superstars pulling double duty are essentially always worthy of our praise. Here’s the top ten moments associated with a superstar double dipping for the night.
10. Hulk Hogan – Wrestlemania IX
In this case, memorable does not exactly mean good. In what seems like the ultimate moment of the creative team freaking out and going for a safe ending, Hulk Hogan found himself holding the WWF Championship at the end of WrestleMania IX.

We are fast approaching the 30th annual WrestleMania event and it is the time of year when many wrestling fans look back on the famous event and revisit the moments that, for whatever reason, were memorable to them. Through the years there have been plenty of memorable moments at WrestleMania and dozens of wrestlers have carved themselves into the tree-bark of history with their performance on the grandest stage in professional wrestling. One of those wrestlers, of course, is the man who called himself “The Heartbreak Kid” and was labelled by fans and critics alike as “Mr WrestleMania”. That man is Shawn Michaels, and this DVD/Blu-ray package is about his legacy on WWE’s main stage.
Shawn Michaels made his WrestleMania debut as part of The Rockers tag team with Marty Jannetty to take on The Twin Towers in 1989 at the fifth annual show, and his last wrestling appearance...

Matt Borne, the original Doink The Clown, has been found dead at the age of 55-years-old.
F4WOnline.com and PWInsider.com have both confirmed that Borne (full name Osborne) was found dead on Friday by his girlfriend he had been staying with in Texas. No reason for the cause of his death has been announced as of yet.
The WWE have issued a statement regarding Borne’s passing;
“Reports indicate that Matt Osborne, aka the original Doink the Clown, has passed away. A rugged brawler in promotions like Mid-South Wrestling and World Championship Wrestling, Osborne made a major impact in WWE under the greasepaint of a prankster named Doink — one of the most enduring personas of the early ’90s.
“WWE is saddened by the news of Osborne’s passing. Our deepest condolences go out to Osborne’s family, friends and fans.”
