Storyline

Based on the Dutch series, thirteen strangers who are living in a studio-like house that's filled with cameras and microphones, compete in a series of physical and mental stunts, and some challenging trivia at a chance at $500,000 in this reality soap opera-like summer program. Thirteen of those house guests live in 13 different states. America will watch every single move they compete to be the last one standing, after having twelve house guests evicted. These strangers are the contestants who think they have absolutely nothing in common, and a few are in a shock for their lives. The house guests begin to introduce other people at the Big Brother house. It's the first time they will get to know each other and they're not allowed to say not one word with them until they are in the Big Brother house. The thirteen will be living in the same house for the following two months. They may either find their best friend or worst enemy in that group; and in the end, it's one men for themselves... This is not Big Brother UK!
5 March 2013 | by See all my reviews

Most of these reviews are either really old, referring to earlier seasons, or even referring to the UK version which is not the same at all. It's a whole new game these days.

Big brother UK is mindless pap, where a bunch of people sit around and do almost nothing. It is a popularity contest, and nothing else. Absolute drivel. No strategy, no game, the only drama comes from the personality (or lack) of the house guests.

Big Brother US is awesome. The house guests compete for power and privileges, they scheme and conspire, with the goal of being the last one standing and winning the $500,000 prize.

The format of the show provides loads of drama. There are 3 episodes per week. First, they compete for head of household. The HOH nominates 2 house mates for eviction. Second, 6 of them compete for the power of Veto which allows them to save one of the nominees. The third show is the live vote and eviction, followed immediately by the next HOH competition. The contestants narrate the show and their personal strategies via the diary room.

There is a different "twist" every year, but the game remains the same. Be the last one standing. Trust no one. I love it!
