Mere seconds before the Earth is to be demolished by an alien construction crew, journeyman Arthur Dent is swept off the planet by his friend Ford Prefect, a researcher penning a new edition of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."

When a meteorite falls to Earth two college professors, Dr. Ira Kane and Prof. Harry Phineas Block, are assigned the job of checking the site out. At the site, they discover organisms not of this planet. Soon the site is taken over by the government, forcing Ira and Harry to the side. During the "class trip" to the meteor crash site, the gas that the flatworms breath is clinging very low to the ground. Yet, in the very next scene, after they have collected some of the worms and a sample of the atmosphere in a jar, the gas is clearly floating at the top of the jar with the worms having to reach up to breath it. [At night, Wayne drives out to a shack in the desert and places a mannequin inside it. He is wearing a yellow fireman's coat, without a fire department's name on it]
Despite all the warnings, she was smoking in bed, fell asleep. Bad move.
[He sloshes gasoline inside the shack and strikes a match]

It has been ages since I've seen a movie that I laughed so hard it brought tears to my eyes, this one did. It was hilarious, I highly recommend it to anyone who just wants to laugh. I intend to purchase it as soon as it comes out onto video.
